Deathwish 750
Here are some pics of my new motorcycle. I've never owned one, but I have rode friends bikes. This thing scares the living shit outta me... and I love it.
1997 Kawasaki ZX-750 http://www.polishmafia.com/bike0708/1.jpg http://www.polishmafia.com/bike0708/2.jpg http://www.polishmafia.com/bike0708/3.jpg http://www.polishmafia.com/bike0708/4.jpg http://www.polishmafia.com/bike0708/6.jpg http://www.polishmafia.com/bike0708/7.jpg This usually happens once every couple weeks... an impromptu Mitsu meet LOL. thanks mark and andrew for your help today with my uhh tippy-ness. not the first time, but the only and last time ;) http://www.polishmafia.com/bike0708/5.jpg |
Re: Deathwish 750

|
Re: Deathwish 750
it is a nice bike pete. but I did call it that you were going to dump it when you came down the street. at least you just tiped it over and did not mess it up
|
Re: Deathwish 750
LOL
i know, it was embarassing... especially now that the fat chicks next door think im a fool haha! thanks for the help. cliff notes: on my dead end street, i tried to slow down and turn the bike around, and dropped it going about 2mph LOL. first bike lessons FTW&L. ;) |
Re: Deathwish 750
Yea hardly any scratches, lucky. Looks really good though, I'd be freaked out with a 750 too.
|
Re: Deathwish 750
That should be a good bike to learn on, just make sure the suspension isn't worn out. The Kawi's back then were quite stable and made pretty linear power. The longer wheel base makes them more difficult at low speeds, as you found out :P It looks nice and clean!

Re: Deathwish 750
Can I have your car when you die?
haha jk that looks sweet. Make sure you wear a friggin helmet! |
Re: Deathwish 750
+1, wear a helmet at all times!
Maybe you can hang with us goin down the road now :D |

Re: Deathwish 750
Glad you got it home safe. When are we going to go riding?
|
Re: Deathwish 750
Plus if you where a helmet the state trooper doesn't have to touch your brain when he picks it up after a crash - lol
btw shoei helmets are worth the price imo i love mine |
Re: Deathwish 750
Glad shes still in one piece from the droppage. haha I could just imagine the neighborhood hearing all the swearing as it happened. lol!
And yea we have to all go riding soon! |
Re: Deathwish 750
Nice man! You'll have to let me take it for a spin sometime :)
|
Re: Deathwish 750
Damn, even for a 11 yr old bike that doesn't look too bad. Bikes are fun, I bet you feel pretty bad ass now.
Build one of these http://youtube.com/watch?v=bJK92LihhAk Good job on the blurring of the license plates. |
Re: Deathwish 750
Sweet! Thats a lot of bike for a beginner!

hahahaha! yeah you'll have that. Nice bike by the way. When I moved up to the cities I really thought about getting one badly. However, with my thing for speed I guess I dont just trust myself to drive the speed limit and the fact there is nothing in between you and the pavement ;) |
Re: Deathwish 750
Wow, that thing is clean for an 11 year old bike! Very nice! It's good you already know to wear a helmet, but proper gear works wonders as well. One more thing, get some frame sliders and those low speed drops will be alot easier on the wallet and mind. We should definatly have a Mitsustyle ride sometime, that would be awesome! Ride safe.

mark mentioned to me that you had bought frame sliders (frame savers, thats what i thought they were called) and i was going to ask where you got them. after yesterday, i think i need some. me + bike + drop = :punch: |
Re: Deathwish 750
It's not a helmet. It's a brain bucket. Always wear it, never use it.

Re: Deathwish 750
Nice bike. Im jealous! I've been wanting another bike since my bro sold our last one, but no money this summer. Hopefully next summer I'll have one to ride with you guys.
Be glad your first drop wasnt as bad as my buddy; too much gas, not enough clutch control, then pop goes the front end and down goes everything. Later on his brother drops it hard like 3x. He managed to break the footbrake pedal and turn the handle bar way off center in one fall. Bike value dropped 50% in 3hours, lol. I think confidence is a major key factor. Keep it up and ride safe. I'll be waiting til next summer :) |
Re: Deathwish 750
Ebay is your friend. You can find prettymuch anything you could need for your bike there. That's where I got mine.

well an update today... went riding with a friend from the shop. stayed along side him most of the time (only fell behind when he was doing 1000ft wheelies LOL.. damn stunters). today i only stalled the bike once at a stop light. not enough throttle, let the clutch in too much. some jackass in an SUV behind me honked, and i mean honked, at me. laid on the button for a good 5 seconds. right after i restarted the bike, i turned around, put one finger up to my mouth (through my helmet) and made the "shhhh" universal signal :D ive gotten really comfortable with shifting, which was one of my biggest worries. tight turning is still a little shaky, but im feeling better on the bike day by day. :) |
Re: Deathwish 750
Basically the best thing you could use as search keywords would be 97 ZX750, and see what comes up. I'm glad to hear you're getting more comfortable on it :) Take it slow and things will start to feel more natural.
