sonic finally opening in MN
I know that they've been building it in savage for awhile, and now I heard that it was supposed to be open tomorrow at 6am. But I also heared that they were open today, and were just PACKED. Anyone have some info on this, or an adress where it's at?

Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Is there some kind of Sonic war going on? This site says the first one opens tomorrow in St. Paul. http://www.cravingstogo.com/sonic/ While others are saying the one in Savage opened today.

Re: sonic finally opening in MN
I didn't know Boarder Foods owned Sonic too.
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Me either... Interesting. I have yet to have Sonic. I'm guessing it will probably be awhile before that happens to.
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Boarder Foods just recently purchased Sonic. There's a Taco Bell not far from me that has a Sonic frosty machine, but they only have two different kinds.
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Would maybe be a good place for a meet.

Re: sonic finally opening in MN

Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Me and 3 other of my buddies spent $48.57, they delivered our food in a grocery bag, and we all ensured that we will someday die of a heart attacks. Decent food, alright service, its gonna suck balls during the winter, don't see how thats gonna work. If they could make a sonic, strip club hybrid, I would definately go more often.....mmmm naked ladies on roller skates and burgers.
 |
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
How crowded was it? I'm thinking of going sometime soon....
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
I went on like a wed. in the middle of the day, and it was still kind of busy. But it wasn't terrible. We waited like 20 minutes then, but a couple of my other friends went on a friday, and took like 50 minutes to get through the line.
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
i went on a monday at like 9pm waited an hour and ordered/ ate 72.55$ worth of food! :)
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Glad to see you n00bs finally get a good restaurant. I just ate at one of the 900 sonics in Texas and got my food in less than 4 minutes of ordering. Enjoy that shit and they'll open more!

Re: sonic finally opening in MN
I was just down in Memphis for the 3/S National Gathering and ate at a Sonic there. It was good food and good ice cream. I think the next Sonic in MN is suppose to be in Elk River.

Re: sonic finally opening in MN
I was there a week after it opened, took 45 mins to get food. Was fun though, and the place was packed. I even saw the MAP guys there in their tundra! I then went the following week, a tuesday at about 11 am, and it took 4 mins. I saw the police show up, and they were getting ready for the lunch crowd. Anyone know if the 94 and Ruth one is still that busy?

Re: sonic finally opening in MN
I went back again the other day with 7 other people packed in the suburban...haha. We showed up at 10 and they already were about to shut it down! After an hour of protesting, flirting with girls, and jamming to many great songs, they finally let us in the drive thru. We then proceeded to get nearly kicked out, and racked up another huge bill....good times. There slush things are insanely good, mmm I want a cherry limeade right now.

Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Matt D. and I met for lunch today at Sonic; it was decent, nothing better than any other fast food restaurant. The burger looked like a Culver's burger and tasted like a Dairy Queen burger. The fruit smoothie was good, but nothing OMG wait in line for 3 hours great. I ate at Jack in the Box in Vegas a week ago and that burger was a lot better.
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Breakfast all day, enough said.
Jack in box is good though. They even have mini tacos. haha |
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Anyone else remember Burger King's tacos? Those were addicting in a disgusting kind of way.
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
I just had a slush today, nothing special. It's good because it's something different, but like Chris said it's nothing worth waiting in line for.
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
I drove by the elk river one and it looks to be almst ready. I didnt even know they were building one and I drive by what used to be a burger time and was like WTF!
|
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Nothing worth waiting in line for, for sure, then again I drove 6 hours round trip to go to one (or was it to drive the Evo?).
But the options they have for the drinks and hamburgers make it pure ownage. Also check out their Chedd R Peppers, they're off the chain, if they even serve those up there for the yankees. |
Re: sonic finally opening in MN
Just went to the one in St Paul today... not impressed. The Oreo Blast I had was nothing compared to DQ. It tasted like they forgot to add the sugar!
The burger wasn't bad, but like Chris warned me, it was nothing special. One visit was plenty!! |
