Wtb: Cheap Car

just like my title says, i need a cheap car, i would like a manual, four cylinder, but whatever yall have and dont want/need i would like to pick it up...

Just found out last week that my GF is having a baby, so now all my money is goin into savings, but, im gonna have a few $100 left over from my tax returns for a cheap beater car, i cant keep my damn dsm running for longer than 3 weeks at a time, so i really need some transportation to get to school/work, so i dont lose my job, so please people, if you all have some super cheap junkers, that run good, and wont need much if any work, please let me know, and please remember, i only have a few hundred to spend (probably $200-$300 max)....

PLEASE PEOPLE! HELP ME OUT!

-Brandon

also, i do have a 2gb shell, and a tranny for trade, or to mabye get some money off...

I've got a 1990 Acura Legend V6L that I just did the Dist Cap, Dist Rotor, Plugs, and Wires on. However It won't be for sale until the Talon can come out again, and I'd want at least 900 for it. Some minor cosmetic damage to the hood and right fender from my dad backing the trailer into it a few winters ago. Other than that, the engine still runs like a sewing machine.

You're going to have a tough time finding a running car for $300.

Re: Wtb: Cheap Car

That's why I love this area. My buddy bought a 86 Delta 88 for 180 out the door,FROM A DEALER with under 200,000. Piss yellow and barely any rust on it. Got it so cheap 'cause the Speedo didn't work..Until he took it through a field. Then it worked!

Whenever I look for a cheap beater I run into these big pile o' turds that don't kill when you take a turn or have no power steering and tires that leak like a siv.

But, Good luck man. I could see if Eric would sell that Daytona for cheap... He drives a Durango now.

Here's some hot links

minneapolis.craigslist.org
fargo.craigslist.org

Start searching forums, etc.. You'll find something!

I've got a 99 Ford Escort 4 door, auto. with about 160k on it. Just replaced the timing belt, water pump, serp belt, coil, plugs and wires. It runs perfect! It's dented to hell, but no rust as far as I know...

I'd like to get around $700 for it though...

Re: Wtb: Cheap Car

screw that escort crap!
Trade me the 2GB shell and the transmission and ill give you a
4-door toyota carolla 1.6L 5-speed
it is currently my daily driver.
it gets ~30 on winter gas driving @80mph
and ~38 on summer gas driving @80mph
so if you drive it at around 55mph you should see >40mpg
AC works great!!
white exterrior, dark blue interrior, very minor rust, you cant see it unless you are on the ground looking for it.

Re: Wtb: Cheap Car

I might be selling my 95 Ford Taurus. It's got 149k on it. Runs perfect and have never had any problems with it. Pretty new front tires, backs are ok. It has a dent in the driver front fender but doesn't effect anything. I've been using it as a daily driver for awhile now. PM me and I can give you more info. I'll let it go for pretty cheap.

Re: Wtb: Cheap Car

how much is pretty cheap?

4g63tcrazy 04-21-2008 02:33 PM

Re: Wtb: Cheap Car

I'm thinking anywhere around $600. Right now the car might need a rear wheel bearing but I'm not sure. I will look into it, but other than that like I said I've never had ANY problems with it so far. Even in the winter on the coldest days it would start up perfect with the gas on E. But like I said, I'm (thinking) about selling it. I really don't need to but I'm looking for a dodge colt right now to start a new project.

Yup! Hopefully I can find one soon here and then drive it as a daily for awhile. Once I get out of UTI, the modding and swapping will begin!

Don't get much safer than a Grand Marquis

Parts are cheap and plentiful. Been rock solid for me. I won't be offended by LOWer than listed offers.
