Who has the Evo X so far?
I just saw on another forum that Vivid Racing has their Evo X already. Just like when the current Evo came out, all the DSM shops jumped on it and started the work immediately. Do any of the big players have theirs yet? If so, post links to their videos or threads here. I'd like to see them, and I'm sure others would as well.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
I think a few are keeping it secret. I can almost guarantee that AMS has one. They were supposed to be getting an early one before they were being sold yet.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
A few private guys on EvoM have their personal X's. One guy said it felt similar to his VIII in how it drove and the interior quality was up to typical Mitsu-par.
|
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Buschur said they weren't going to get one right away, but in all honesty, that has to be BS. It's such a huge market, I can't see everyone jumping on it.
No one has EcuFlash working for it yet though, so that's a big drawback for tuning for the time being. |
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Unlocked ECU for evo X might mean the 4G ecu will be unlocked as well... canbus is going to hold back the evo x until they break it open, but there has been nobody willing to do it for the 4g since the market is tiny.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but there is a bit of buzz about that on the 4g forums. |
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
There is probably already an ECU chip being burned away. They burn it away layer by layer to read what was on it.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
I read a bunch of threads on evolutionm yesterday. I think some dealers on the West coast have sold some EVO Xs. But It might be a few more days before they arrive in the Midwest and East Coast.
It is exciting to see Vivid Racing already getting there hands dirty with the X. The dyno numbers were just a slight bump over the IXs numbers. Which is right on from what Mitsu is claiming. later, Curt |
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
SouthCoast Mitsu has some in-stock and sitting on the lot.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
a guy on my galant forums saw one at a dealer in california. dealer price tag was 38,500, and does not include the SSN package.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
SSN? Is that kind of the same idea as the SSL?

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Thats cool the battery is now in the trunk, the washer fluid has always been back there, and possibly thats an S-AYC reservoir?
|
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Luther Mitsu in BP will have them in next week!
|
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Its about time other sports car manufacturers starting putting batteries in the trunk. BMW has been for a long time

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Just got back from Norco Mitsubishi, They have 30... yes 30 of them. They are sooooo fucking nice.
They even have a looks package that comes with a little more aggressive body kit (not ricey at all), it looks fucking awesome. The sales man is even willing to go only $100 over invoice on it. Which would put it at around $33k. He also said that HK$ has already cracked the ecu. |
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Nice, with the midwest and east coast soon to be gettting their cars, it should be interesting to see the vids and posts about these pop up.
I really want to start learning/hearing about the new engine and it's weaknesses and strengths. I'm assuming Mitsu understands what they needed to do with this engine. |
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
The salesman knew that HKS had cracked the ECU?
|
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
yeah he was actually pretty knowledgable, he know what turbo it was, what engine it was, knew about dsms. I quizzed him well, little azn guy. He is responcible for buying and selling all of the Evos at that dealership. Cool guy.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Hopefully HKS will release a VPC for it. :)
|
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
I want to see if the evo x ecu has more tuning ability then the previous evos once cracked.

I'm really interested because i'd like to be able to go standalone and not piggyback if possible. My goal before spring dyno day is to finish up my exhaust and hopefully lean out my 10:1 AF/R a bit. |

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
The stock Evo 8/9 ECU is getting to be very versatile, its not a standalone but close enough for 95% of people.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
3 Attachment(s)
Went back to the dealership last night and took some pictures. sorry they are kinda crappy quality. But i really like the aero package that they have, kinda reminds me of a Skyline GTR.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Does anyone make a "chip" for the 4g? Since its NA.. there isnt really a point to doing a standalone, unless that is the only tuning option. Still doesnt take away the fact its fwd. :P
|
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
It's a CANBUS ECU, so no. The only time anyone has really tried to do anything with it was when RRE made their Ralliart 4G, and they said fuck it and turned an EVO ecu into a piggyback to control engin management while the 4G ECU still kept duties of the CANBUS shit.
Now that the EVO uses the same type of ECU though, it being cracked will lead to the 4G ECU being cracked. Meaning i'm glad I waited on buying a piggy back solution. |
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
Did they crack the V6 3G ECUs? I know the NA 4 cylinder stuff was always very similar to the turbos.
|
Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
3G was a different kind then 4G, I don't know much about it other then that. :(
