EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Mustang Dyno: 237whp/256wtq stock, not bad!

Let the modding begin!!!!!

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Interesting points: 10.0 afr like a normal stock mitsu tune, only 15.5psi dropping to 12psi by redline. With TBE, intake, and tune if it holds true to an IX's power output, we will be seeing 300whp+ on our local favorite dyno dynamics dynos.

edit: guess I red the graph wrong, boost was 22.8psi peak falling to ~18 on stock tune. Crazyness.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

It says a max of 22psi and a avg of 17psi at the bottom of the page, that is a lot of boost for that little power. This Evo is going to be sweet...

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

That dyno was done on 91 octane cali piss as well.....wonder how much boost it'll be able to run on bp92 here, with a proper tune and freeflowing exhaust. IX's are able to run 23.5-24 peak, guessing maybe 25psi?

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

In the blurb written by the vivid tuner he says it was at 22psi.

Interesting note: 0-5v hotwire MAF as opposed to the Karmen Votex and also wideband from the factory? Aww yea....

How do mustang numbers compare to dynamic? I understood they come out a bit higher, right?

scheides 01-18-2008 04:26 PM

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

*usually* just a tad higher, yes. Maybe 3%?

Some have said that the local one at RS reads extra high...

Shane@DBPerformance 01-18-2008 04:33 PM

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Mustang dyno depend on how they are calibrated, they can be all over the place. A normally calbrated one should read a few percent higher than a Dyno Dynamics with no extra correction. RS's seems like it reads normalish for a Mustang, a tad bit higher than ours.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Vivid put on an intake, the car picked up about 29whp and 14wtq!

Still zero tuning done, as the ecu is not unlocked yet...

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

I'm excited for someone to crack the ecu.

I would venture to say i'm jazzed about it.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Looks like it made more boost and leaned out a decent amount.

Vivid is out of Chandler, Arizona. Gas isn't the greatest, but I bet it beats Cali gas.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

AGP is going crazy with theirs, baseline 265whp/??wtq and with a TBE (with no cat I'm guessing?), FMIC with new hot-side piping, CAI, and MBC @ 24psi falling to 18psi they're seeing 345whp/330wtq!!!! That's +84whp, so far no tuning done, this is purely bolting on parts.

http://forums.evolutionm.net/showpos...1&postcount=47

I think this is done on a dynapak.

Also, a good comment in that thread:

Quote:

Just as a general note for those wanting to know about the X. The car is really really easy to work on. It's really a pleasure after fighting a 335i to have nice open engine bay where you can get to everything. And after looking at it up close for a while, it makes the 8+9 look very plain. The aggressive styling really grows on you. The engine is clearly responding to mods just as well as the 9, and the X has a stronger trans than anything ever bolted to a 4g63. The only downside I can see in the X is the additional 250lbs. But you can't tell it's there when you drive it and if the powertrain, brakes and suspension are all improved to negate the added weight, who cares. I'm not going to run right out and trade in my 9 but all my fears of Mitsu killing a once great car are gone.

Those with deep pockets can now step up, there's three of them on Ebay. Looks like they're arriving at the west coast dealers.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

So AMS has some info on the stock fuel pump. It outflows the stock IX pump by about 15%!!!! The VIII stock pump was a joke...

ALSO, stock injectors are being measured around !!!!! 650cc's !!!!!

This fuel system (pump and all!) will easily support 350whp or more on dyno dynamics, just unreal....

Its on EvoM in the X section. Look for AMS's thread, it should be near the top in Evo X General.

and here (AGP): http://forums.evolutionm.net/showpos...&postcount=152

"The injectors are a high impedance saturated type injector. They measure 12.3ohms and are a disc style tip. This is all bad news for upgrading injectors because almost all large injectors are low imp peak hold. And here’s the real funky part. It’s got this long protruded tip because the injector boss hole is very deep. See pic-"
http://www.agpturbo.com/images/evox/injector.jpg

"The GREAT news is that none of this will matter to most EVO X owners. We got one of the injectors flowed down the street at AZ TPI and they are 650cc. I took a crappy camera phone pic of the spray pattern.-"

Looks like it could be pretty costly for people to upgrade the injectors on the Xs

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Ya but they'll need to do it a lot later....hiflow fuel pump and those stocker 650's will support a lot of power on pump gas / alky! :D 400+whp!

Right now I'm paying $480 for 6month on my EVO_8
Evo-X $390 for 6 months

Vishnu is using a modified version of their Procede to tune the X. This is with stock exhaust!

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4...06/evox285.jpg

Shiv says this is equivelant to a tuned IX with TBE on that dyno. Impressive!

-Engine still makes power in the presence of detonation events (which is not good of course). The 4G63 would behave differently by immediately yanking back several degrees of timing and 20-30lbft of torque. Not sure why the ECU in the X isn't as reactive to knock a the older ECUs. One interesting thing I noticed is that the tachometer movement becomes "sticky" when accelerating during audible knock activity. Haven't seen that before.
-Engine tends to detonation at fuel cut. We had to enrich and retard the last 300rpm prior to fuel cut to prevent this from happening.

Also, good info:

The 15g turbo on the X is smaller than the evo 9 16g but is making good power anyways....the cool thing is that its NOT REVERSE SCROLL like the VIII and IX turbos, it is in fact a clockwise scrolling twin scroll turbo, so a standard 20G that we've been using on DSM's for years could be a potential upgrade....at the very least, a 20G compressor wheel should be able to be put onto this stock turbo......WOOT!

I see a new era of frankenstein turbos, stock hotside with a 50-trim and bigger compressor wheel?!?!
