I just bought and installed an early Christmas present for my winter beater. I got HIDs for it! Havent driven the car yet but they look nice when I turned them on. They are a cheap kind so I lost my high beams but who cares!

Did any of you guys buy your car a Christmas prestent?

It wasn't for xmas but I put HID's in my '99 GSX. Looks awesome and have had numerous compliments. I went with 8k bulbs. Glad I didn't go with 10k. Didn't want any more reason to be pulled over. Got them off ebay. Been working like a top.

I dont remember what they are, either 6000s or 8000s. And what I ment by cheap kit was its not the ones that have the high beam and low bean. and they were like $150 on ebay new but I got them 3rd hand.

just have to make a harness bar for it and put in my greddy harness

To be fair though it was more of a end of a school year present for my car. It deserves it after it has driven me back and forth.

There was another tread up about HID and I thought it wasn't a bid deal. however a Scion Xb one night pulled up behind my car. It was "customized" with HID headlights. Now I see why it is a big deal. I wanted to bitch the person out or something. I had to pull over and let him pass.

Agreed.. i went thru an entire alignment with mine. When I put them in, they were way off. If anything, I errored a little bit and have them pointing just a hair down more than they shoud be. Mine was also around that $150+shipping mark. Ballasts appear to be good quality. I just have my low beams done. I would like to do either the high beams now or maybe just do the factory fogs.

I could care less if someone posts something about me "calling me out" They can suck a big cock. I like them and I can actually see now(I couldnt see anything with the normal headlights)

most HID's are behind a projector and have the top part of the beam cut off..that's why when they are stock, you don't get the glare you see from aftermarket kits in stock headlights..That said, I am waiting on my HID bulbs to finish my kit for the talon..and black housing headlights once I find some.

Haha, i was gonna buy clear headlights and HIDs off ebay for my maxima beater but then i realized I could buy other cool things for my real car! It would be hilarious though. =)

Nope, they're quite a bit heavier than my Volks, 21#'s each, but they look good and they are WIDE, plus they have plenty of room for my big brake upgrade this spring.
