I don't know what that means, but when I get an evo, I'd DEFINATELY going to send it to buscher and have them build and tune it. :theBar:

I am sure there were equal drivers in all 3 cars and the evo was on straight 92 octane to boot.

Hey, they build high-powered cars that that *don't break* over and over, and then just post the info and videos online. And they answer the phone. Sounds like an impossible combo, but they pull it off.

For a full build, maybe, but the nice thing is on all of these full balls-to-the-wall builds they use the same parts you can order from them over the phone or internet. My car might be a good example of this, exhaust, intake, cams, alky, ported manifolds, ss o2 housing, etc etc, all can be bolted on in your own garage and then here is the beautiful kicker: we have the resources locally to get these combos properly tuned, and even installed if you so choose. I would much rather have a local tuner and source parts myself than send my car across country, not have it for a month or whatever, and then get it back and not be able to touch a thing. THANKS TO OUR SITE SPONSORS FOR THIS!

The evo was on C16 (or vpimport?) and 34psi. I'm sure straight 92 it would have still been a close race, that car makes over 500whp on 92oct!

Ya know, I was being really sarcastic, because I fully agree with the comment that he (them) is a good marketer.

I'd still rather have the ford gt or carrera. Anyone with 35k/year and a credit card can get that evo. You need baller status for the other two and then it doesn't matter if you are the fastest or not, cause you can get two chicks at the same time.

Id still take either the porsche or the GT. :)

The only reason the evo guy won the race was because buschnuts promised him the mustache ride of a lifetime if he did.

500whp on bushnuts dyno on pump?
:drive1:
I'd put my money on the gt supercars.

I bet the evo would pwn in a gas milage competition.

Yeah, Schiedes is a huge Buschur fanboi. His stuff is decent, but I wouldn't say it is better than anyone else's stuff. His recipe has worked though, decent quality, decent customer service and higher but not outrageous prices. His marketing for the Evo is way beyond what he did with the DSM though.

It is better than the other 2. Carrera GT is 9/14 and the Ford GT is 12/19.

I get 22-23 in the City and 26 on the highway.

Why not source your parts locally, as well as tune locally? I buy probably 90% of my parts locally.

Bah, Buschnutz buddies probably own the two "super cars".

I bet he paid them off to sandbag it to make his shit look better on video.

Why wouldn't it be real? there are videos of civics beating vipers, etc. so it's not impossible. the question I really want answered is: how many titanium connecting rods are in that video?

Re: GT35R Evo vs Porsche Carrera GT

the vid was not to great.
I would take the ford gt over the carrera gt just because of the fact that the paint and body work on the carrera is crap. kevin,me and the other auto body people looked at tit when we were still a dunwoody are were aske to leave the area at the auto show for picking there car apart

Yes im sure its crap........ You should have told the porsche guys that and then drove by in your evo and revved. Look at my sweet bodywork ya dumb germans!!

this was all when I was still at dunwoody when I painted my talon about 2 years ago and it was at the car show down town. the evo was not even a though yet

Yeah but your car is pretty much stock. Get it close to the 500awhp on pump gas levels and drive it using the power/torque the supercars have.

My point is that 1 gt35r evo beat a few gt supercars. Wow the tree dodging car won on the highway...

To bad the gt cars were stock if not close to stock and were designed to do that ALL DAY LONG versus an evo pushing its setup to win on the street.

They are not comparible cars. In the end, its still just an evo. In the end when the civic beats the viper, its still a civic...different class of cars.

A win is a win! I would still rather own the Carrera GT, but you have to give the Evo props for beating them with maybe $50k into the car if he bought it new.

niterydr 12-15-2007 12:32 PM

Re: GT35R Evo vs Porsche Carrera GT

Yeah but according to the video the car makes 598whp at 34psi with C-16, and it makes 500whp on pump? Either that setup is fucked or someone needs to learn how to tune on race gas...or it doesn't truely make 500whp compared to 598whp on race gas...UNLESS again the c-16 tune is weak and the pump gas tune is ragged edge.
For a stock gt car versus a pretty modded evo the porsche wasn't very far behind. So again on "pump gas" I am pretty damn sure that evo would get dominated.

FINALLY...

What is that modded evo's resale value in 9 years?
What about the ford gt?
What about the Carrera?

I honestly think its a good race and comparison, but I doubt every 35r equipped Evo could beat those supercars. They are not comparible, its a sweet video and great bragging rights for the evo's owner.

Re: GT35R Evo vs Porsche Carrera GT

It's cool to beat a high dollar car in a low dollar car, that's why we're all here. Going fast for cheap is the DSM mantra. But they're hardly comparable in any other way. I'd rather own a Carrera GT for a year than an EVO for a lifetime, and the cost for each is about the same.
