New personal BEST with a twist.

OK, it's been 4+ loooong years since I've been ready to hit the 1320 and last night broke the streak. I really wasn't prepared to go, but with the weather being soooo nice, I decided to go at the last minute. Figured what the hell, lets get some base level tuning done.

Old personal best:

On my old GT3076/7cm and previous exhaust/FMIC/manifold set-up
11.471 @ 122.66 29-30psi on C16

New personal best:

Current status of car:
11.45 @ 125.08 22psi on 93 octane pump gas

Time slip:
60ft - 1.72
1/8th 7.47 @ 97.94mph
1/4 11.452 @ 125.08mph

This was in full street trim, 7/8 tank of fuel, my heavy ass sub cabinet in the back, just like I drive everyday, all 3500lbs of it. Even drove home grinning bigtime with the cruise engaged and those subs pumping away.

What I'm really happy about is the fact that once I get some C16 or VP Import in the tank and turn it up into the mid 30psi range, there's no reason why it shouldn't bust some very respectable 10's. Had I been able to get a few more runs in, I think it would have went faster with more boost on the 93 octane as the tune was looking really good and getting better with each pass. Unfortunately there were so many cars there due to the great weather I only got 3 passes.

Opinions, comments are welcome.

very nice... thats awesome that your pulling pretty low 11's and have a completely weighed down car. I say drop the sub, passenger seat and anything else of weight one night throw in the race gas and let her rip!

Nice, gives me hope that I'm not turning my 11.90 car into a 12.90 car.

Innovative Turbo Systems' version of a T67 dbb/p-trim/t3-.82. There is something different about the compressor wheel though, not exactly a T67 wheel.

Good shit man. I just checked out your garage and you have a very clean and sexy ride and it obviously packs a punch. I wanted that car for sooo long until it became impossible to find one with low miles.

Re: New personal BEST with a twist.

Shouldnt you be at least in the 10s? The mod list in your profile seems like it should be running A LOT faster then it is. Possibly the tuning or the Weight seems to be holding you back a lot. Either that or you really need to learn how to drive lol.
Also How do you get your Magnus SMIM so shiney?!?! Mine has dulled, i have tried everything from chrome polish to rubbing compound, nothing gets that mirror finish back.
And one more thing, where did you get your radiator pipe, that is really cool and havent seen that before.

DUDE!! First time to the track on the new set-up and in full weight on 22psi with 93 octane!! Sorry to disappoint you.

White diamond metal polish, works great.

Pipe was built by VPE when they did the manifold.

Great runs, that sounds like some good power on pump gas. I would think around 380-400awhp up here on a DD. Keep up the good work and get some race gas in there and hope the drive train holds. Tom go find R for race.

Still you could have done better. LOL
Were you getting any knock on the run or what was your A/F looking like?

Tom, shut up until YOU do it. Get out of the high 13's before you start telling someone they should be faster than mid 11's on pump gas. 11's is no easy feat, especially on pump gas in a heavy car.

Yes I know I could have done better, but as I said earlier, I ran out of time at the track. The 3rd run which was my last should have been my best, but I clutched too quickly and had to double shift 2nd gear. But to answer your question, 10.7-10.8:1 afr on the last run with only .4 knock retard at 6500rpm, otherwise there was no knock period.

Easy jet, i was only joking around. and the high 13s was in a GST, not hooking up at the launch, untuned knocking and running really hot.

Re: New personal BEST with a twist.

At least thats all been corrected. Now its a GSX, bigger injectors, bigger intercoooler, bigger turbo, more boost. This week im gonna grab my buddies Gtech and do a couple runs to see just how much of an impact the above will bring me. My buddy used the gtech at the track on saturday and it was dead on on every run he did.

Still, what JET said is kind of true.. it just seemed a little cocky the way you worded it. Vicious obviously met his goal for the day and was happy with his results, and said originally he knew he could have done better. He knows there is room for improvement. :D

Just my pennies. :)

Tom, drop the holier than though, piss poor attitude. I bet you think your car will run 10's on pump, don't you? Damn bench racers.
