Round 2, Final 3.
|
They didn't change from the last set did they?
|
Nope, just some removed from being taken.
|
Would you consider Twised Metal? Twised Air seems to imply turbo's in my mind.
|
How can Raptor be in the running for naming the place if he's going to be part of it?
|
just because we all sat down and these are the names we like out of all the great suggestions we received. :P ;)
|
didnt vote for any of those but how about front line motorsports??
|
Trust me, I don't get anything if I win. We just have the name settled.
Ryan, I would rather see it imply turbos etc than car crashes like twisted metal would ;) |
Quick Precision because it has a sound of class to it.
|
Twisted Air because it is relatively easy to remember versus Quick Precision which I do not feel would be easy to remember. I'm not a huge fan of naming something based off of an acronym like JAM which is why I did not vote for JAM Motorsports. Plus if something were to happen with the three proprietors (sp?) such as one leaving, would you change the name or leave it?
|
Twisted Air might get confused with Twizztid Koncepts, a local mini-trucking group.
|
JAM motorsports.. Nice and easy to remeber and its got the first 3 letters of my name! only 2 votes though!
- :69: |
Sorry... I can't vote, don't really like any of them.
If this will help any of you change your mind... http://www.digitalmatt.org/images/explicit%20speed.gif |

Mike, you are one creative individual. Just curious, what do you do, think of those while your working on a beamer, get a bunch in your head, take a bathroom break and put on the TP so you remember?
Thanks for all your ideas, you definately had some good ones. |
Ultimate Speed
Ultimate Performance Ultimate... |
I wont vote because I dislike all of them.
JAM sounds like a place to go get your lowrider chromed out and your phat beatz installed. if you call it twisted air, people will drop the "air" and just call it twisted. there is already one twisted in town, and they are a bunch of homos. quick precision just sounds bad. i dont even know what to say about that one. |
you want the name to sound like what you do. something along the lines of custom fabrication and installation.

i agree, i dont like them, i think there were better choices that were not being used.
|
I like Quick Precision the best, sounds kinda cool and profesional.

If you didn't know what Elite does, you would think the same thing when you hear "Elite Autosport" Anything around here with "Elite" in the name deals with low riders, ground effects, stereos or chassis lighting :uh: |
n. elite - The best or most skilled members of a group
Pretty much sums it up... Elite Autosport As I stated before, my vote is for what I thought of... Explicit <whatever> adj. explicit - 1. Forthright and unreserved in expression, 2. Fully and clearly expressed; leaving nothing implied. Something simple as naming a business can't be held to just thinking of words and assuming their meaning and verbal value... The definition of words and the context in which they're used is where the true colors will be found. |
That was why the pole was put out. This is one of those things that are going to get some strong opinions in specific directions. What it boils down to is that we need a name that most people like that is professional sounding, simple enough to remember, not taken and reflects somewhat what we want to do as a business. I think Quick Precision encompasses most of that well. I like a lot of the other names that had been brought up, some better, but they had been used or were close enough to ones that were already taken that it would be a problem. Of the people who don't want to vote because of the current selection, give a reason why you don't like them and give an alternative if you have one. I still havn't heard the one that just instantly makes you think "thats it"
|
I still like POWER HOUSE PERFORMANCE = PHP
I think it goes with the potential and knowledge of the people that are putting it together. "Hey man, take it over to the "Power House", they will hook you up." "Welcome to the Power House, what can we do for you today?" |
 thought about it for a while and came up with a bunch of names. these were my favorites.
Advanced Autosport Speed Solutions Rightaway Racing The St.Paul Speedshop what do you think? |
Power house isn't bad. There are alot of them I like including some of them on your list Blake, a lot of those we just can't get away with. The business will be incorporated so the naming needs to be unique across the country. The ones that most people come up with are already taken in one variation or another. I do have to say I like Explicit as well. The final decision will be tomorrow night at 10 because we need to get the ball rolling on a lot of things that require the name.
Any other imput on Explicit? Anyone else like it? |
I like POWER HOUSE because that's what modding is about. Wether it's making more power at the engine, putting more power to the ground through driveline/suspension mods, or making the chassis safer or stiffer. That is what you guys will be doing, right?
|
It doesn't sound bad, but for some stupid reason it makes me think of Robert Palmer and "simply irresistable" I don't think I will ever be able to shake that so it isn't quite the ticket. Not bad, just not quite. Just coming up with a name is somewhat frustrating. There are so many good ideas, and of course the ones that would suit it best are in use by someone else. One of those really original not obvious names might just be the way to go. We shall figure this out. Either way, the bathroom is for sure going to be known as twisted air!
|
i have to agree with matt. the name of this shop has nothing to do with me. but i do not like the name, reasons
1. none of these names make you 3 sound like the best. 2. none of them are catchy. 3. twisted reminds me of twisted concepts and thats just not a cool thing. after the night at uni when ryan hable with the evo wanted to pull into the checker parking lot and the twisted concept guys ran and made a human wall so ryan could not pull in yelling no room for your peice of shit. and there was only about 6 twisted members there and the rest of the lot was empty. one positive to jam is the slogan "toast it with JAM". i would like to state i own the rights to that jingle. just kidding. joe kappers |

i like The St.Paul Speedshop catch, original, to the point. doesnt exlude anyone and people will remember it.
|
best of luck, when is this shop going to open?
|
I still think innovative would be an awesome adjective to use...
Innovative Autotrends Innovative Automotive Technologies Innovative Automotive Concepts Innovative Motorsports Automotive Innovations Innovative Drive & Design Innovative shows creativity, leadership, and along with automotive or motorsports shows what you are working with... Just my .02, but I have yet to vote as well... Chris |
If they were posted before why are you posting again?? They already went through them.
