Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Bling Bling. I'd hate to see the bill for that build.

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Holy damn
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Damn, that's nelson's car. I believe he had a 3.5, and a big single and lifted the heads last year.
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
wow that is clean
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
That is a sick car!
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
That is a very nice looking car and a very busy engine bay:lol:
840hp on an aborted run at 24psi...with plans on 42psi....not no mention the nitrous he was planning also?? If this info is credible that car will be uncontrollable if it doesnt blow up first. What is the capacity of a DD dyno in AWD? I remember Josh posted about it when they got theirs but I cant recall. One more thing, how on earth is the drivetrain going to survive that kind of power or is it just going to be a dyno queen? |
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
What's with the colored turbine housings and center sections?
Very niice! |
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Wow that engine looks sick.

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
More than likely ceramic coating. And actually, it's 12 hp per color ;)
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
average gain: 11hp. But it's metric horsepower so in reality it's more like 15.
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Shit, good call. Damn english to metric conversions....
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Yep, that is nelson's car. He lives in New York and had a bottomless pocketbook when it comes to spending money on a 3/S. I believe Ray Pampena does all his work.

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
I think they need to learn how to strap a car to the dyno. I'm not a fan of the colored turbine housings but its pretty cool.

Was his engine sponsered by a gay pride association?
I want to see the final numbers |
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Looks kinda... barneyish...
|
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
That's nelson's car. He has more money into his 3 3s's than DB and LSE have into their entire shops most likely.
"You can build a fast car two ways, build it right, or throw so much money at it is has no choice to be fast." -Matt at Dynamic Racing True quote. I wish Nelson the best of luck with his car, he has ALOT of $$ into custom 1 off R&D. |
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
That DD dyno should be able to graph 2400awhp, and steady state 1200awhp. For cars making over 400awhp we have another traction bar to put over the front controll arms and cars making 500+ we add more straps to hold the car back also, this would keep the car from pulling up on the rollers. It would also depend on ramp rate, gear ratio, tire size, but cars pulling up like that are not safe and will throw dyno numbers off.

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
I'm surprised they didn't strap it down like they should have. Is that video just a "show-off" video like on exvitermini where the skyline climbs the rollers? And when people buy a DD dyno, doesn't a technician/instructor come included in the crate?

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Just an FYI... This car (nelsons) ran a 9.62 @ 152mph at the 3/S National Gathering yesterday. Very impressive. The 9.62 is a new 3/S record time. With the driver the car weighed 3600+ lbs. The run was also on street tires, but they were drag radials. Crazy stuff.

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
ja.

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Car's 3rd pass out, 24psi, hit the rev limiter 500' before the end of the track.
Curt, pass was on bf goodrich KDW's, I don't think they were on DR's, just normal street tires. |
