Re: Ice Road Truckers

Yeah, Every sunday night at 9 on the history channel. Pretty insane to think if their truck dies they pretty much die. 40-50 below temp, How their trucks even keep going of day after day of such punishment. Yep pretty crazy stuff ey!

My father inlaw saved that for me on his DVR. So when I go over there I have to watch it. It looked pretty sweet.

Re: Ice Road Truckers

i caught this the other day. it wasnt bad. some of the stuff they do to keep the engines warm was pretty cool.

the only thing that made me say "damn!" was when they were talking about driving on the ice... they would see the ice cracking in front of them spreading like lightning bolts!

Re: Ice Road Truckers

I just watched the whole first episode on Youtube. That looks like it would be a blast to drift an AWD DSM with cleats on the tires. LOL RALLY DA ICE ROAD DONT CHA KNO.

Re: Ice Road Truckers

What i dont understand is why they dont put solar powered lights in the ice to show the drivers where the road is. Im sure someone could make a killing selling them to the diamond company, Maybe ones that are heated so that the ice doesnt accumulate on them, and also put them on a 8-10 ft pole so that it doesnt get covered by the drifts. It would probebly save a lot of lives and trucks from losing where the roads are.

Re: Ice Road Truckers

I've been asked to go up their and haul a bunch of mining equipment, way to dangerous. And if you notice on the show not one driver has a decient looking rig except the youngest guy who has a 00 Pete/w sleeper. Going up their is a good way to make $75,000 but also a good way to lose $80,000 for the rig and another $50,000 -$100,000 for the product. F--k that, I'll keep my ass on the Asphalt!!! "I'm RICH Biiccchhhhh Honk,Honk". LOL

Re: Ice Road Truckers

That younger guy that was like 21 or 22 on the first episode that was up there for his first year made me laugh. Scared to death cussing like a sailor and all the names he was calling the crow flying outside his window. He was easily amused... obviously so am I

Re: Ice Road Truckers

No, not that Noob. The other younger guy but was no Noob to the game, I think he was 27 and had been hauling up their for ten years or something, the one with a Newborn baby girl. Yea that Noob made me laugh, and the other Three Idoits, well the BossMan was alright but his drivers were flat out RETARDED!!!

Re: Ice Road Truckers

Yeah there was that one young guy that gets The biggest of the big loads, seems very respected and is probably making BANK

bluntedelvis 06-25-2007 08:02 PM

Re: Ice Road Truckers

Ohh he's making Bank, All that shit he hauls is wide load. Wide load= Pay by the Ton= More money and for all the extra crap that comes along with it. The other idots are just racing back and forth to get more loads for standard load pay.

Cold absolutely KILLS batteries. The kind of temperatures they deal with up there I doubt any solar light would last.

One of them I drive. Here are some more, mainly just a dump truck driver, asphalt, dirt, gravel, boldors. But I also go across the road hauling ash "renewable waste", concrete walls, beams, platforms, lumber, and heavy equipment backhoe's, dozers, skidloaders, & frontend loaders. First pic is a 99 Sterling 430hp, sec & third pic is the inside, the forth is half the fleet we have 3 more dumps and 2 tractor's. The two Peterbuilts are 03's both with 500hp the interiors are the same minus the host controls on the tractor-trailer.
