Dsm Cruise (?)

Wassup everyone, I have own my Mitsubishi Eclipse Gs for two years now. And I have been looking around to see if their is any DSM Cruise around the metor area. I have seen many DSM Cruise elsewhere. I know that their have been a curise up at Duluth, but what about the metro area? I was just wondering if anyone would kare to set up a DSM meet and cruise around town.

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

I suppose we could do this. Not really sure how well it would go though, my guess is that with traffic we'd all get separated. We could cruise around the lakes (Calhoun, Nokomis, Lake of the Isles, etc.) and stop to grill somewhere. Or we could do one to Stillwater and cruise around that area a bit.

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

Or, I/we can just put the effort into another weekend cruise like the one to Duluth. How does July 14-15 work for people?

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

not on july 15 weekend I am getting married that day

but a cruze to stillwater would be nice to go out and grill

What about a ND weekend for some track fun as well? Then D town again in the Fall?

I'm game for just about anything, but I'll know my situation more after the wedding.

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

A trip to ND would be pretty boring as 94 is so flat and straight... hmm Im up for whatever though.

Kracka 05-10-2007 11:24 AM

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

A cruise to ND would be boring, not a whole lot out there and its nothing but a straight flat highway the entire trip. There are plenty of track events all summer, including MAP's at Rockfalls, we don't need our cruise to revolve around one (plus I'm sure the majority of people wouldn't track their car anyways).

I seem to remember us having a ton of fun on the "straight, flat, boring highway"!!

Maybe instead of ND we could head to CF? We could run the river down to Winona, then head over.

I liked the river drive down to Winona like we did last fall. There is plenty of fun to be had on the straight flat stretches of highway, but not when you go without turning the wheel for 4 hours straight!

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

I was thinking that we should not go too far. Around the lake in the metro area would be fine. And grill afterward or grill and then cruise. Separating apart from everyone should not be a problem. (I think) Lay out the map of where we will be cursing to and from. Around the summer of July should be fine. Take what works best for everyone. Would like to see a big turn out.

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

I also have another question. How come I don't really see any DSM over at midway on University. Seeing only one by itself or wondering around. No pack of the DSM. Mostly seen is the, Civic and Integra.

I'm in for a cruise to Duluth or CF almost any weekend this summer.

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

An all day sunday event would work out awesome for me and joesushi, somewhere local would be best, DSMs dont get great gas mileage to begin with, and a roadtrip to nowhere seems like a bad idea.....

Besides, I dont want to flatbed something home for a multi-hour trip.

Kracka 05-10-2007 11:01 PM

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

My 20G Talon got over 30 mpg on the highway and my stock Laser AWD gets 27. The next cruise I organize with be another overnight cruise to somewhere since the last one worked out so well and everyone had a great time. We had our share of DSM issues, but every car that left under its own power returned under its own power.

If i ever have off during a weekend when these events go on I'm down. I only have my bike (dsms down for the count) But still up for cruising Haven't really seen to many people or done much of the car scene since moving back from Florida

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

I'm looking forward for this to be happening. Any idea of where to cruise that is not so far away from the cities. I was thinking about cruising around between downtown, mpls and dowtown, stpaul. Around the lake would also be fine. Saturday, would be a better day if possible.

Put your front plate on...

We like cruises that are far away. :) Short cruises around the metro would be tough with lots of people.. We would all get seperated.

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

Uni is St. Paul cops :) But yeah I've had issues with Minneapolis police before. Usually I just treat them with respect and they let me off.

No front plate and a louder exhaust than most DSM's and I've never had a problem down on Uni. Blame your stickers.

I will eventually, but I currently have no bracket for it and I don't want to mount it in front of my intercooler until I make sure the cooling system and all will work properly. I actually haven't had a ticket yet (I keep it in my windshield) but have seen too many people get pulled over on uni for no plate.

It's cool. I mostly roll the bike in the summer anyway. ;)

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

a cruise does sound fun. as for the whole university thing I am down there a lot either by porky's or foods mart. I have a white 90 talon tsi. it's not in the greatest looking especially thanks to truck driving hicks who like to speed out of driveways in reverse with out looking behind them and then smash into my car. no offense to anyone who drives a truck but i'm still pissed it just happened yesterday. and as for the whole no license plate thing the vast majority of cars on uni on the weekend don't have a front license plate

TjXiong 05-31-2007 10:35 AM

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

Alright, It seem like everyne is down for the cruise. I've been seeing alot of dsm cruise elsewhere beside Minnesota. Does anyone have any idea of where to be cruising. We all could meet up at one location and once everyone is there we could cruise. (Grill before cruising? or afterward) Needs everyone contribution on this. Also when will be a good time for everyone?

Opener cruise was earlier this season. But if this is another one, have fun

I don't when, but Chris (S2kracka) was looking to plan a summer cruise I think, but definatly a fall cruise. Probably another overnight cruise.

Im trying to put together a car show at WyoTech in the middle of July, besides its only like 975 miles.

I don't think most or our DSM cars can make it. It will break before we even get out of the twincities. :violin:

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

i'd be up for a cruise, after i get my second car lol.
as for uni, cruising there is boring.
i see a bunch of people at foodsmart, i swing thru it quick, get a bunch of glares, see no dsm's and leave.
i'd head to porky's but.....getting dirty looks from all the "muscle cars" is anoying. so i fly by there with my blowoff valve for kicks only lol.

Goat Blower 06-02-2007 10:54 AM

Re: Dsm Cruise (?)

I go down to Porky's and have no problems. Don't do stupid ricer things and you'll have no problems down there, making BOV noises qualifies as this. And make sure you can drive, there was a newer EVO down there last week that everybody laughed at. Looked like the guy was new at driving a 6-puck or a twin-disk, couldn't get it smoothly through the lot.
