Re: turbo
What are your current mods? There is no way you can just "bolt it on" and expect it to work.
|
Re: turbo
i was told it has a fuel pump. why wouldn't it work?
|
Re: turbo
For starters you will need a different exhaust manifold just to get it on the car. Then you will need the supporting mods to make it work properly. Higher flowing injectors, tuning device, exhaust, intake, higher flowing fuel pump, boost controler, intercooler pipes etc...
What kind/size turbo is that anyway? |

Re: turbo
They're local shops around here. That turbo is NOT going to just "bolt on" to your car in any way, shape, or form. Your "buddy" took you for a ride. Your going to need a new manifold, v-band downpipe and new exhaust, new intake, modify your intercooler piping, get new oil lines.... And that's just to get it on the car. The list of supporting mods that you'll need is even longer.... Do some research first before you get flamed off the face of the planet

Re: turbo
Um, looks like we will have a sweet parts car thread coming up soon.

Re: turbo
Check the sponsor sections of the forums.

Re: turbo
You need thousands of dollars in mods before your car will even be able to handle that turbo, buy something realistic for your situation (unless you do want to drop some serious cash).
|
Re: turbo
If I were you I would do some serious research and find out if that's what you really want to do first. The amount of money and time you are going to be putting into this isn't a over night job. You should post your supporting mods. A fuel pump isn't hooked up on the turbo as well, it's a very different part for your car. It was going to cost me about a good $1,000.00 to have everything for my upgrade, including supporting mods and so.

Re: turbo
Try using the www.vfaq.com website first to understand what you are getting into.

Re: turbo
lol...thats funny, but wouldnt that turbo be pretty obvious that it wouldnt fit?
|
Re: turbo
hehehe...i guess not...lol :)

Re: turbo
Post that picture of the turbo in the for Sale Section. then go to the nearest Honda Dealership and trade in the car for a Honda Civic.
|
Re: turbo
How much did you spend on the turbo? I'm a bit confused as to which you have, 1g or 2g. Your thread says one and your profile says the other.

I agree. |
Re: turbo
Now, now guys, lets not FLAME this guy too much sounds like a noob to the DSM world. Dude the turbo will work but you really, really need supporting mods 670cc "or more" Injector's, 255 H.P. fuel pump, FMIC, Safc tune or hell DSM-link. What are your expectations out of your whip, what are your current mods, these are all things you really need to take in consideration before serious mods like your 50 trimm are just bolted on.

Take the turbo with you and bring the car to one of the local sponsors on the fourms here. Maybe check out a few of them. Maybe a Saturday of it or soemthing. get a feel for the cost associated with making that turbo work and then make a decision on which option will be your best bet. If need be, put the turbo up on ebay ot something and cut your losses and go with a mod plan suggested by a local shop. I'm locking this down and we obviously have some poeple that can't get it through their skulls that the tech area is the one area we'd like to keep the ethug'n to a minimum. |
