That's a sorta cool Neon. Still had traction issues from a roll. The Neons are startin to make real power. Good job.

Seriously Im with CVD and his previous posts. You already posted up like 10 links to the same freaking car. Its just a neon! The SRT4's might be fast and all but geeezuz your just bringing down any chance that I might ever like them again with your constant posting of THEM.

That is really lame how they sprayed the intercooler during the entire run with nitrous. And how is that turbo specifically for that car? It's an off the shelf BB turbo made by Garrett.

I would have no problem and i like looking at all vids of all cars but not when the same car has 5 topics on it. If you posted in 450 I would still read it and watch it...

I just looked, i started one thread on this car when it was at 415whp, and 2nd when it was at 450whp... So 2 other threads with info about the car.... And this a 3rd, with a video link to the car that is now at 500/526.... Im fine, not getting defensive, I just didnt understand the whole "10 other threads" thing.. On a side note.... is winter driving anyone else nuts??? I have 3 vehicles in storage, and im going crazy.... guess it gets worse the more vehicles you store.. :razz2: |
Not to jump on the pile here, but I think that this is a small enough forum that if you were to add all of this to the original thread it would be seen. Its a cool video, and I dont mind reading the SRT info, but one thread would be nice, esecially talking about the same car.
And yes, winter is pretty gay. 2 cars on storage (one because it is broken) and having to drive the slowest one. But hey, at least you can make your own fun when it comes to beaters. And yeah, I think the winter is contributing to a lot of the animosity on the forums lately. This place is a lot more fun in the summer. :) |

SAE corrections were 490 horses and 513 torque with a gt30/40 dual ball bearing turbo. |

I "heard" through the grapevine that he ran 12.1 at 125mph on street wheels and tires this weekend at the SRTnationals.... Guess we'll have to wait and see, supposedly a vid will be put up, spinning all the way down the track....

Just my two cents but I thought I saw a lot of Nitrous being sprayed on that intercooler in the pass.
I ahve used nitrous to coolt he itnercooler down before a pass cause it was on my old set-up and my intercooler would always heat soak. We will have to see what I throw down here on race gas and 30psi again here shortly. |

Steve Anderson (owner) has previously dynoed at 535whp 540wtq (give or take a few, i cant remember) and is in the may issue of Modifed Mag. I believe he ran a 12.9 on street tires when they did the photo shoot. This weekend he went to the track, hes been pushing this motor to see how much the stock long block would take, with the intensions of a fully built motor from Cox Racing *insert has cashflow here* He ran a 11.7 spinning i guess in first 3 gears with a 2.0 60ft times. On his 2nd or 3rd run for the day, he cut a 1.7 60ft, and blew up before half track, finished with a 12.9 at 83 oiling down the track. Hes debating right now to throw another stocker back in and get his 10s/600hp goal on a stock long block, or thow the built motor in. From the sounds of it so far, the 99cent chamion plug went in the #2 cyl, broke off, and mashed 2 all to hell, blew a whole in the block when the piston went. Guess the rod is still attached to the crank, and all 3 other plugs look fine... So heres some vids, and a link to the whole deal for those who care.
