well I now own a evo III
As of today the car is running and I dove it down the street with less than 1/2 gal of gas and had to limp it back to the shop. I got it to the door and itr ran out of gas. Now comes the finding the side skirts, rear bumper, and wing.
vid. of it running is up in the project area |

Re: well I know own a evo III
I going to get a can of gas in the morring for it and put a 21 day perment in it up at the shop and take it out for a road test tomorrow.
|
Re: well I know own a evo III
got it all figuared out what I spent on it
spent 7796.31 on the car and swap parts no labor sence it was all me and the shop guys sold so far 2429.00 (still have a extra evo motor) total so far on the evo 5367.31 |
Re: well I know own a evo III
NOICE as hell. Thats badass, get that vid up asap, i can't wait to see that thing.
|

Re: well I know own a evo III
Your camera sucks :p Cool project
|
Re: well I know own a evo III
amazingly fast build considering the scale of the project. if i were to do the same thing i can safely say it would take over a decade.
|
Re: well I know own a evo III
lol I really wanted to watch the vid but wasn't gonna go to the project area to see it. Thank god you decided to put a vid up for us lazy people.
|
Re: well I know own a evo III
:D Congrats!! Looks sweet!
|
Re: well I know own a evo III
thanks
guys I just used the video function on my sony dit. camra I know it is not the best but is what I had at the time when I got it started up. |
Re: well I know own a evo III
awsome!! I cant wait to see this thing in person some time.
|
Re: well I know own a evo III
That's pretty sweet! I hope to check it out in person someday.
I think your next project should be to swap a 3S engine and drivetrain into a Diamante. That'd be a sick sleaper (and completely impractical). |
Re: well I know own a evo III
Looks awesome. Congrats!

Re: well I know own a evo III
These videos might be worth your time, might want to check into getting a Synapse Synchronic BOV. Sounds like your blow off valve is having mad compressor surge causing your turbo to spin in the opposite direction.
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...3f0150f005.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...620138267b.htm No diaphrags, Pull type blow off valve, Poppet valve for max flow at intial opening, Boost pressure in intercooler pipes keeps it closed. |
Re: well I know own a evo III
Yeah, an upgraded bov makes mad powah yo!
|
Re: well I know own a evo III
Fuck Yea!!
Almost as much power as ricer clear corners and all white rims lol! |

About the BOV... that is how a lot of blow offs sound, its called compressor surge, I'm sure replacing it isn't on the top of his list, hell probably won't even see any power out of it. However if you can do something to prevent compressor surge why not? BTW forgot to mention this earlier, TKR the car looks and sounds bad ass got to love evo IIIs. |
Re: well I now own a evo III
well the problem with the bov was that is was venting and that is now fixed and there was a problem with the mas so I put the other evo one I had on it and it is all good now.
And go fuck your self with the white rims coment I have white rims on my talon and the evo rimes will be powder coated white sence the evo's came stock with white rims and clear sides |
Re: well I now own a evo III
settle down brother of mine, before you get into something that I have to get you out of something again. It was a pretty dick comment though.

Re: well I now own a evo III
Huh, thats a neat idea for a BOV. I can honestly say I havent seen any product like that before.
|
Re: well I now own a evo III
Coming from somebody that thinks "XYZ" BOV makes more power, insults don't mean much. I'll spend my money on performance, you can spend yours on stock rims and a couple cans of bronze Krylon.
|
Re: well I now own a evo III
I've seen the car in person, it's definitely come a long way. I can't wait to see it painted up and on the streets. 275 hp in a 2500lb car is nothing to sneeze at.
|
Re: well I now own a evo III
I'll spend my money on performance too. Visual enhancements are the last thing I'm concerned about. After all I like owning a four banger for a reason, it's the whole sleeper appeal to me. Can't think of a better feeling then pulling up to a new Z06 in your stock looking 1g DSM and toasting the dude.
P.S. my comment was far from being directed towards TKRs cars. Shit I didn't even know he had white rims, my apologies. |
Re: well I now own a evo III
thanks steve
if you did not know it is ok the rear evo brakes are froze so I am uing the evo rotors turned them (sence the galant vr-4's have a deeper tophat) and using 1g gsx calapers and brackets with mirage pads. It would have been alot easer if they did not stop makeing the rear calpaers for the mirage es's. (the fancy 4g mirage with 1.8 and abs and all disk brakes) |
Re: well I now own a evo III
I have envyed you TKR since I have joined this website and I saw you on the featured members area and saw what you were able to do with you dsm. Now I am just even more impressed with this evo project and you have brought another level of respect I have for you.
Shit anyone who can do all the things you do has my fullest respect. That is why I joined this site so that I can learn as much as possible and be able to one day build my own engine, and maybe even make a friend or two along the way. |
Re: well I now own a evo III
thanks man
well it is going to start cant stand it will be moded now. I am taking the talon back closer to stock and puting the evo set up on it and power sterring back on it and alot of other parts will be coming off it. Then the talon will be going to the wife sence her 90 eclipse is pos rust bucket. so going into the evoIII now set of hks 272's the pte 50 trim I have to rebuild 255 pump afpr part's will go on the evo and the spyder from the talon I will just have to find a way to tune it now sence dsmlink does not know if a 2g set up will work with the evo III ecu |

Re: well I now own a evo III
well I am doing to have to find a way to tune it sence dsmlink will not work unless I make a adaptor harness and change to a 2g ecu and change some of the engine sencers to 2g ones.
|
Re: well I now own a evo III
haha I had a sneaking suspicion this thing wouldn't stay "stock" for long
|
Re: well I now own a evo III
ya I kenw it too but it is just sooner than I was going to do it
kevin sat at the shop 10am we will finnish up your car |
Re: well I now own a evo III
