It's an interesting article, but I wonder how they came up with those estimates. They produce the number of 12 murders per day and 13 drunk driving fatalities per day by illegal imigrants, but they never mention how those estimates were established. I'm not trying to defend either side here, but I think there are a few holes in the story. It does provide an interesting perspective on the subject of illegal imegration though.

Very interesting! I have also heard the soldiers have a better chance of dying if they were still in the US compared to being over there fighting. I really don't understand all the bitching about our soldiers dying though. Yes it is tragic, but at the same time they are doing what they volunteered (and are paid) to do....they knew the risks before signing the papers.

Thats interesting but biased as well. I am sure the totals for Americans killing fellow Americans far outweighs the amount of friendly fire deaths in Iraq. Either way its bullshit they are even here, I have said many time before that they should just start shooting illegals that are trying to invade the U.S. illegally. After about a couple hundred get shot I am sure the amount of them trying to come over would dramatically drop.

the key word is ILLEGAL, Not mexican.
The wierd thing is that everyone constantly confuses these terms. What about the Canadian illegal immegrants, always drinking up our beer, or the cubans.
You think about how bush is building a wall to keep mexicans out, but why dont they build a wall to keep canadians out.

Well, because last I read they believe 90% of all illegal immigrants come from latin america, and 70% of those are from mexico.

This doesnt matter. Because the government in order to not sound racist is saying Illegal Immegrants, which they have come off as making all Illegal Immegrants to be Mexican by putting up that wall. Why doesnt the government be honest with its people for once and just say what they mean, THEY ARE TRYING TO KEEP THE MEXICANS OUT.
Sad Fact is, is that everyone knows what they are saying but nobody wants to come out and say it, because in this society Racism is a big no-no in politics.
I can see this coming already, because as we all know history does repeat itself. So what happened with the African Americans will now happen to the Mexicans, and soon Illegal Immegrants will be allowed to vote (and drink from the same water fountain as the whites and blacks.
Im not trying to come off as being a racist, because im not. its just that the government is putting labels on people to shield the truth in what they are saying, they are assuming that Mexicans are the only illegal Immegrants.

Of the illegals, its the Mexicans causing the problems! I could careless if some Canadians wanted to sneak into the USA, they keep to themselves and are afraid of breaking the law.

Tom, do you just hate the government that much?

Lock every illegal immigrant of every nationality up in Montanta. Then lock every criminal (hard core shit like sex offenders, murders, ect ect) up in Wyoming. Fence them both off with a fence in the middle of the two states. have a few doors that open once a month between the two states, and have them only stay open for a few minutes. Put it all on Cable TV for the rest of us to watch.

That will solve out problems and be probably be pretty fucking profitable.

I dont nessesarily hate the government. but i do think that its the governments job to be honest with the people that it is Governing and not lie about every little thing because the truth is politically incorrect.
We have a lot of good things about this country and a lot of bad things, but i dont think we should be pushed to the point of a salem witch hunt because the government is afraid of a couple mexicans. And if the government chooses to alienate a group of people then come out and say it. dont hide behind a politically correct term, and if you are going to come out and say "We dont want Illegal Immegrants in our country" then get rid of ALL illegal immegrants not just the mexicans (sorry S2Kracka that means AZNs too). Now if the government came out and said, "Look, we got too many damn mexicans in our country, so all you illegal ones gotta move on, go up to canada or somethin'" Then yeah the mexicans would be pissed but at least our government would be honest.

They said that all illegal immigrants are mexican? Can you show me where they said that? I'd say it's definately safe to say that a large majority of our illegal immigrants are mexican. I doubt the government ever said ALL illegal immigrants are mexican. They are trying to stop it from happening, and logically starting with the largest threat, which would be those entering from our southern border. This doesn't sound too out there to me...

Dont remember anyone calling out mexicans as the illegals and taking them out lol. The only thing they have tried to do though, which is why Tom thinks this way is the border fence. Why would the US fix small leaks when it can fix the big one first?? Thats like patching a small crack in a damn vs fixing a big ass one leaking shit all over!

Like i said, i wasnt saying that the government was saying that all illegal immegrants are mexican. I was saying that the government is coming off this way because they are building a fence only along the mexican border, if they wanted to keep ALL illegal immegrants out why wouldnt they build a wall on the canadian border. So by building a wall only on the mexican border they are portraying it as targeting Mexicans and not ALL Illegal Immegrants. Does that spell it out for you?

Tom is just trying to keep us safe. Build fences to keep everyone out. If I remember correctly if you go out to other countries (to some countries) you have to get shots before entering back into the US.

So.. when you're upgrading your car, do you drop 10g's to go right from 13 second quarter mile times to 10's? Or do you upgrade logically, starting with what will impact performance the most, and then gradually improve upon that? Most everyone starts somewhere, don't just do it all at once, all of a sudden. It's difficult, and expensive.

You're saying to ignore statistics, and just build one large wall around the enitre country all at once? You're absolutetly oblivious if you don't realise a large majority of illegal immigrants come from the southern border. It makes perfect sense to start there with the battle against illegal immigration. Like Peter said, you start where the biggest leak is, then worry about the smaller leaks.

Question to everyone, in any political or government related topic, has Dom (Tom) ever made sense, ever?

I honestly dont care about immegration, Personally i am against the fence. My girlfriend is Mexican/Native american.
The point i am trying to get across is that the government needs to stop spending money on stupid things like a fence to keep people out and start spending that tax money on something that matters, like say KATRINA. (nah they wouldnt do that, thats old news) and Dont get me started on the war.
Some of you are taking what i say WAY to literal. What i am saying is that the government is doing things to single out one race, yes i am saying that the old wrinkly balls in washington are racist, but they cant pick on the blacks anymore, and native americans are old news, so why not the mexicans. hell they cant understand what you are saying so why not. Next to come is the Azns, then the persians, then who knows it could be the people with blonde hair, then the people with dark eyes.

Statistics make the best propaganda dont they? They are so easy to twist and rarely are accurate. In order for the economics to work on those figures every person here would be affected by this murder and sexual assualt or know someone close who was.

History teaches us many things about walls. None of them is where I want my taxes and future heading.

Building walls is like trying to take pee put of a pool. Wrong solution to the effect and not the cause.
