today's voting
Did you vote today?
I would think if nothing else, the transporation amendment would be fairly important to just about all of us. |
Re: today's voting
I am voting after work. It will be the first time I've ever voted, mostly because there are some things on the ballot that will greatly affect me in the future (ie. school levy).
|
Re: today's voting
be sure to check out sequential voting too! It's a good thing!
|
Re: today's voting
I'm waiting for an all-inclusive party vote, so I can just check Republican and get the hell out of there. Saves time. :D
|
Re: today's voting
I voted 5 times...

Edit: There was a black guy at one of the tables that sounded like the black guy from Family Guy. I was laughing as I voted. |
Re: today's voting
I'll be voting for some democrats and some republicans.

It was nice, though. Because I had to register they made me skip ahead of about 30 people, haha! |
Re: today's voting
Some dems, some greens, some independants. I'm all over the board :)
Drove a ton of miles and was late to work just to vote. Just aheads up BUSH is not on the ballot, nor will he be again. No point commenting about it. |
Re: today's voting
I did my civic duty. That transportation amendment better pass. They did a good job of putting the "vote yes" billboard right on I-94 near Rogers where everybody sits in gridlock every flipping day!

I also voted yes to pass a levy referendum for Mounds View Public Schools. Hopefully it passes so I don't have to worry about looking for a job in 2 years. :( |
Re: today's voting
What's the transportation amendment? I did not vote today because I did not get my absentee request done in time. :(

I still am a resident of Texas so I can't vote here.

Re: today's voting
I never heard exactly what kerry said. Not that i'd vote for him anyway, but was the big huff about just three words, "trapped in iraq" or what? Was there more to it?
Hillary '08 bitches. |
Re: today's voting
I've never voted, nor do I think I ever will. Politics is the one thing I'm happy to stay away from.

Re: today's voting
I'm happy to say that the levy for the school district I live within and work for passed by an amazing 54 votes. I'm very happy that I voted tonight.
|
Re: today's voting
I didnt vote because I dont have time to put forth the effort to see which candidate I would support. Not to mention I had like 9 hours of class today between 8am and 9:30pm and I had to study for that bio midterm. Generally I am pretty slit though, I dont vote one way or another.
I'm with Alan, I hate politics. |
Re: today's voting
I won't say which party i voted for but here in Wisconsin we had two referendums: The death penalty and Yes for marriage. I voted Yes for both of them. Fuck the gay fawkers.
|
Re: today's voting
I support the death penalty and gay marriage. If it makes them happy, then so be it, doesn't effect my life one way or the other what they do.
|
Re: today's voting
Looks like the transportation amendment won't pass :(

Re: today's voting
Yup from what I read today it sounds like it did pass which is good, wasn't looking good for a while there though. Now maybe MN can have a decent transportation system on par with other large cities.
|
Re: today's voting
By transportation system, do you mean more light rail/mass transit type stuff? or just more lanes on the roads?
|
Re: today's voting
I think it includes both. More Public Transit is huge. You shoudl see how packed some of the bus stops get, they need more busses and trains, and more parking and routes. More poeple will use them, especially coming from the burbs.
|
Re: today's voting
40% of the money goes to public transportation (busses, lightrail, etc.) and 60% will go into the roads.
|
Re: today's voting
I would have voted and im usually very political but too much crap has been going on lately for me to do any research on the canidates, etc.. so I passed this one.
|
Re: today's voting
What happened with the gay marriage vote in Wisconsin?
|
Re: today's voting
It passed. Noone is allowed to have a "happy" marriage in Wisconsin.
|
Re: today's voting
Yeah, cause it's either the brother or the sister that messes it up.
