??? On piston location

Are pistons 1 and 4 supposed to be the same height and 2 and 3 supposed to be the same height when sitting in the block?

Here some pics

Is my head still good? Is the damage just to that rod?

Maybe you bent a rod. Or your perception of reality.

Thats what I was thinking a rod Ill have pics up in a second

Re: ??? On piston location

It would have to bend pretty far to sit that high. Broken maybe. Seperated from crank. I'm inexperienced with internals though, so my guesses are probably crap.

Re: ??? On piston location

All the valve ends look ok, all in original location. I dont know if the rockers and cams could of been damaged by this but they seem to look alright as well. Nothing fell out of the head when I removed it.

Re: ??? On piston location

I had a head with 10 bent valves once, and it looked fine too. You're shit's prolly f-ed. Lets see pics.

Re: ??? On piston location

Something is definatly broke! The rod is either broke or bent and i cant tell anything on the head though.

Re: ??? On piston location

seems to me like piston 1 and 4 don't look too great on the head. black deposits.

most likely your connecting rods are bent. expect lots of surprises in that oil pan.
good luck

Re: ??? On piston location

lol, a 19 post long thread and basically nothing was said....

I bent all of my valves once, that was a great time. To check them, turn off all the lights and stick a small, bright flashlight into the port. You will see a ring or semi ring of light if they are bent. Another thing you can do is sit the head on its side and pour water into the ports and see if it leaks out the valve.

Re: ??? On piston location

It would be pretty amazing if the valves weren't bent in that cylinder.

the people demand pics of the broken rod

Re: ??? On piston location

Rod is broken, weld the holes on the #3 crank journal and take out the "rocker arms" and HLS's on the #3 valves and let er buck. I mean 6bolt swap, or a 7bolt 2.4 FLW.

I wasn't joking, I was being honest.
If it is a 6 bolt block, try to save the block/crank.
If its a 7 bolt, the price of scrap metal isn't to bad right now...
