$2/gallon gas by Thanksgiving?

It's possible, but not likely. But it looks like there's going to be a little relief at the pump in the coming months.

Yeah, over in EP it's been around the $2.70 ($2.69 @ BP on Mitchell Rd). I hope it stays around that point, or even goes down more.

Re: $2/gallon gas by Thanksgiving?

it is down to 2.87 for mortal gas and 2.99 for me.

if it gets below 2.50 for premie. I'll run down the street naked.

something is odd when the prices drop BEFORE labor day. The oil bubble might bust as forbes said.

I saw $2.69 (regular) yesterday right by my house.

Re: $2/gallon gas by Thanksgiving?

I saw gas for 2.66/gallon two weeks ago when I drove up form texas. In some of the small towns in northeast texas and arkansas (texarkana area) they have it for really cheap. I'm sure it's aleady at 2.20 there.

I wonder how long it'll last.

Over in Burnsville it was 2.61 for a bit.

You guys have it made. It was 3.15 for the longest time here in central WI. It's finally down to 2.92. Premium was 3.30 and now 3.12.

2.63 for 87 octane. Popped a full tank in my truck :)

Re: $2/gallon gas by Thanksgiving?

2.66 in Blaine! Plus I usually mix half E85 in the tank too, and that's at like 2.10 or something.

It was 2.50 in Cleveland 2 weeks ago.

That probably had alot to do with the huge forcasted storms on the coast. Apparently they did little to no damage to anything that matters. I am not sure exactly what motivates gas prices, but politics and weather seems to have alot to do with it.

Yeah bullshit, someone else gets richer.

I can't believe the discrepancies. I just paid $3.26 for 92 near Duluth and some of you people are finding low to mid $2. Crazy.

Where can I find these magical brakes you speak of? Cause I need a tranny too.

I don't need a whole one, you can just brake me off a piece.

I gave a highway worker a brake once, and he threw it back at me.

Needless to say the window did brake.

Re: $2/gallon gas by Thanksgiving?

I got premium for 2.85 yesterday, which is what I paid for regular a week ago.

Just in time for me to go back to school where I don't do any driving, and maybe pay for a tank of gas every semester from borrowing peoples cars.

Does anyone remember when this same thing happened last year, and sometime over the winter gas got down to about $2/gallon, because I remember seeing $1.99/gallon when I was up in St. Cloud.

Re: $2/gallon gas by Thanksgiving?

That may or may not have been a mistake. If BIG ERN was anywhere else, prices might be higher.

but that was the dead of winter when gas demand is at it's lowest.

this drop is VERY unexpected. Normally gas prices do not drop until after labor day. This year it is happening two weeks prior.

which means it might go lower than anyone expects.

we'll just have to wait and see.

Still, when is the last time gas dropped $1 because it was winter.

When gas was $1.25 in the summer, it went down to like $1.10 in the winter. Obviously demand has an impact, but a 35-40% price drop?
