8.05 and shifting? He's kind of a big deal.
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
Didn't he run something like a 7.96 awhile back?

Damn that thing comes out of the hole nice!

Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
Yea, he ran a 7.97 @ 179 last year, at E-town, vs. a fast fwd civic. I have the incar and grandstand views of the run. The incar is cool, cause his lexan windshield bows in towards the end of the track, and then pops back out when he's slowing back down.

Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
The 7.xx was on the spray, the 8.04 is all boost.
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
48 lbs. Looks like a 7 will occur once he get's the motor settled out, and other vehicles taken care of.

Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
I guess the new head is working good for him. He said he was going to wait until he breaks his old time with just boost before he adds the nitrous.
He also has a lot of weight reduction done to the car. I believe it was about 22xxlbs or around there. Pretty nuts if you look at it and the normal person couldnt tell what he removed. I cant wait for the shootout! |
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
looks good coming out of the hole indeed!
Kevin I can't wait for the shootout too.. still dont know if im bringing my car... |

Sweet setup! Man I love shep's car.
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
That is the sickest car on the planet. Period.
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
damn, that's the goal guys...very nice.
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
That is my goal. But, I'll never get there. I wanna have a single digit pass sometime though. That's what I'm after. it will take a LONG ass time to get there, but I hope someday, that will occur. I hope shep get's his motor and other situations sorted out for the shootout. Same to rau.

Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
i love the details. i like the removable braces on the manifold collector. looks like he's logging pressure in the exh manifold too, or am i wrong? what cam gears are those?
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
I think they are Unorthodox cam gears? Exhaust manifold pressure is important also, I think you ajust your cam timing to reduce exhaust manifold pressure.

Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
nice run indeedy..is he still have problems with his rear-ends?
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
I think my favorite thing about Shep's car is his "intake" as you can see through the bumper.

Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
My favorite thing about his car is the color!!
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
To hell with all that... I like the power/speed.
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
hes got a 16g right?
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
I really like his custom coolant system, the long tubular manifold, his Oil catch can(cause I got the same one), and how hes rockin no front mount and no radiator!!!

Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
He had no need for those. It used to be water-to-air, but now it's all meth injection, and race fuel. As for the block, it's hard-filled/concreted. Coolant only flows through the head, and that's it. He changes coolant and oil every run, like most of those guys do. If you see an in-car video, watch the 2nd gauge in. His water temps shoot up as he runs the car, it's amazing the car can take that. (o-ringed the block)
-A. Swift P.S. They are unorthodox cam gears, if someone was still unsure. |
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
i don' remember him ever running a W2A IC setup. and its not meth and race fuel, its 100% meth.
|
Re: Shep runs 8.05@180 on the 29th
I coulda sworn he had the w2a setup last year in ST. luis. Maybe I'm wrong. And, his site says meth injection/fuel.
