Site Upgrade Update
 

Some of you noticed that some normal features aren't working properly. In what has 100 fold been the easiest process for us ever we have 100% MOVED the site over the weekend without anyone really knowing it. yet another HUGE thanks to Chris for this one! He's already done soooo much while taking on ownership duties and I'm not sure if he know's the meaning of taking a vacation. :D

Some features like the Gallery, Arcade, Store, Avatars are not currently working. We are also going to now be able to run the banner program again with a new script for the vendors. We are on the newest version of vB as well, so look for addition features to be added.

if you notice bugs feel free to post on up in here and while you are at it big some big propes to Chris for all his hard work. Without the advancement of DSMStyle.com would be little to none in the recent months and future.

Thanks AJ! Yea, the move was easy, I'll be adding back in not only the features we had before, but updated versions of those features, and some newer, bigger, more bad ass ones too! The first step is done, upgrading to vBulletin v3.5.4 (we were running 3.0.3) and that was done almost immediatly after the move. Again, if you have any comments/concerns about anything, please post here!

Maybe you already know about this, but sometimes I can view the section with the for sale, WTB, and misc. for sale, and sometimes I can't. It's like it appears when it wants to. But hey, you just moved this massive site in 2 days, so there's probably a few bugs left.

sometimes he's logged in, and sometimes he's not. ;)

That would be my guess since forum viewing is on membership status and post count still.

Not sure if you know but the main page doesnt work. I usually just go right to the forums but I tried that the other day when the forum was down and it didnt work. Tried again now and still doesnt work.

No bugs for me though. Everything seems to be working great.

The QuickReply issue was isolated to the 'Evil' style. If you see this, it should be fixed :)

yeah my pm box is missing too. I also noticed that i cant post a new thread. i tried posting on the forced induction forum about a problem i have and it kept telling that the message was too short.

Sure thing Fatty, just remove all coolant from the car. Remove all oils/lubricants while you're at it (don't forget the rear diff!). Leaking problem SOLVED! :)

if you click on a members name to send a pm to them, it doesn't show up in their profile to send a pm. The only really way to do it now it to reply to anotehr pm and put someone elses name in I think.

One thing I was working with yesterday is member levels and permissions. I think right now anyone with less than 50 posts is limited to what they can do and I think I have this also set up to not allow the use of PMs. I'll work on the permissions things today. I'm toying with things that forces people to get more active to use more features ;)

Colors on names now = admins (red) and site sponsors(green).

It's just little shit I am playing with. THe main thing is that on the active members list at the bottom of the main forums page it also lists admin and sponsors in the corresponding color.

When the store is back up and running people will be able to do the same shit again with their names and others titles and such ofr the cost of points. Setting for how many points might have to be adjusted. 10 billions points is a big excessive ;).

Yea It won't let me start a thread. Evey time I try it just gets deleted and says it is too short.

Yeah, that will be fixed up as well as the Gallery and Arcade. I think those are the top 3 in line.

Didnt feel it was worth starting a whole new thread but is there anyway to get the little button back that allows you to go to the newest post in a thread. It kind of sucks with the multiple page threads when you want to view the new posts and have to go through all of the pages to find the recent ones.

EDIT: And the RPG and vbPlaza menu dont work with Firefox, they do work with IE though, except with IE vbPlaza is still called store in the black background and is not there with the silver background. lol

I have a guy working on this today again. I realize we will run into some issues with firefox vs IE but there isn't much I can swing with that one right now.

Also, there is a button next to the name of the last poster that will take you to the last part in the thread, actually the last post made.

Right, but do you understand the button I am refering to? It was a little arrow next to the thread title. Like I said, no biggie really, just something that was nice to have.

Whens the last read button coming back? That button and the "New Posts" link are all I use.
