Our hookah bar in Ames has been a HUGE success. I have never been there but the owner(who is also a student at ISU) has opened up at least 2 other locations due to the success of his Ames location.

Strappleberry (apple and strawberry) or Citrus Cooler (citrus with a little mint) FTW!!

There is a great place up in new brighton that has hookahs that are like $5 a couple nights a week, and they use real wood coals, so it is that much better than those self-lighting pieces of crap.

And yes, the Ames chicha shack is very nice. I like the plush leather couches in there. So comfortable to sit down and have a good hour long smoke.

I need to find some more hookah friends up here in the cities though besides my roommate. Anybody up for some hookah downtown??? I currently have lemon, melon, and mint, and hopefully double-apple soon.

I just went to a hooka bar in anoka for my first time and it pretty much kicked ass. I'm going to ISU next year and I'm really excited about the hooka bars in that area. Where can you buy em???

I got mine at the Chicha Shack in Ames but they're pretty expensive there. If you know what you're getting, buy one online. You can get a lot cooler ones for a lot cheaper. Like 2 or 3 hose hookahs....

I got my medium-sized one there for $60, online you can get a big one for $60 or $70. Multiple hose hookas jump to $100+.

A bag of coals runs about $6-10 depending on what you get.

Tobacco is usually about $6-10 per box also depending on what you get.

A bag of coal and a box of tobacco is usually good for about 20 hookahs worth.

It's natural tobacco so there aren't the chemicals of regular cigarettes, such as nicotine. American Spirit cigarettes are the same way. Either way it still fucks with your lungs.

They are middle eastern bong-like smoking devices. They have the long hose or multiple hoses coming off of it for smoking out of. I guess people smoke tobacco out of them nowdays instead of hash and opium?

Yea, it does leave tar in your lungs, but like Jakey said, there are no where NEAR the the amount of shit that there is in cigs, which makes you able to take in such a huge god damn amount of smoke. And it gives you a really nice head rush or a buzz too. :)

The thing is is that when using a hookah you cook the tobacco, compared to burning the leaves when you smoke. Releases less chemicals and tastes a lot smoother and more delicious. Try it if you haven't.
