All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 19th, 2006

Hey everyone,

Plans are underway for the 2006 All Mitsu Cookout. This year we have a new location, the Rogers Middle School. It will be a nice big paved parking lot. Map to the school:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...+MN+55374&om=1

The event will be on Saturday, August 19th, and run from 11am to 4pm. Details are at: http://mn3s.org/all_mitsubishi2006.html

I also have a back-up webpage at:
http://home.earthlink.net/~curtgendr...bishi2006.html

More to come.......

later,
Curt

LOL. Yeah, it makes it a lot easier for me since I make about 10 trips back and forth.

Thanks,

Between the LSE dyno day and the DB dyno day coming up there should be a good amount of people able to display some numbers on their setups as well.

Hey everyone,

Things are coming along great! Don't forget, we have a new mailing list to register with. If you are planning on coming to the Cookout take a minute and sign up. Go to:
http://mn3s.zforcenetwork.com/list/?p=subscribe&id=4

Also, I've spoken with Corporate Mitsubishi and they are sending some cool prizes like t-shirts, and hats. A big kudos to Mitsubishi for helping out!

later,
Curt

You need to get them out and maybe change the name to MMOD - Midwest Mitsubishi Owners' Day and get Famous Daves to cater for free.99.

Do we need to register if we arent planning on showing a car but are planning on eating and being there all day?

If you have a running Mitsu, you should really bring it and have it in the show. No one cares if you have ultra low gloss paint and more door dings than you can count. ;) Its about getting together and bringing out your ride.

Now if you don't have a running Mitsu, but plan on coming, you should still register and then just let me know a couple weeks before the show whether you are bringing a car.

Thanks,
Curt

I'd put my ugly car in there just for fun. Who knows hopefully it will be half way cleaned up by then....

Sounds like a good time I'll be there!

This might be a dumb question, or maybe the answer isn't even out yet, but just in case I'm going to ask anyways. Is there any idea on costs yet? I'm thinking about putting my car in the show because I might have it painted by then so it might look a little better. But I remember last year there was something about having yor car entered and having a passenger with you plus eating and it was all one cost. Just wondering how that will work.

I am really excited for this. I was disappointed that I couldn't go last year because it was on my birthday but this year its a few days before so I have cleared that day. Pretty sweet that Mitsu has agreed to send out those prizes!

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 19th, 2006

Let's put it this way, if you can't afford the cookout price you probably can't afford the gas to get there anyway. :D

Last year it was $5 for you, a guest and your car with all the food you could eat. I'm guessing this year Curt will be shooting for the same price but I think there are a few more expences with using the school so we'll see.

It's the best bang for the buck fun out there!

curt_gendron 06-14-2006 01:36 PM

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 19th, 2006

I'm hoping to keep it at $5. That includes the car, driver and one guest. Until I get all the sponsors locked down, I won't know the for sure price. A worse case scenerio would be $10. But its looking like it will be $5. Its just not official yet.

And regardless what your Mitsu looks like, if it runs, you need to bring it.

Curt

I registered but will not be showing my car as in its current state, I don't trust it for more than 20 feet of driving. I did however list my car when registering for the Cookout because it wouldn't let me register unless I listed something. My goal is to have my car ready for the '07 Cookout.

Understandable. I am only an hour away and am not sure if I can trust it. I dont ever have time to work on the thing.

Anyway, I will register with a friend who will be bringing his car. I did that last year and it worked.

Well I wasn't concerned about not being able to afford it, I was just thinking about how it seemed to me last year putting your car in the show regardless was a better deal than just showing up.

I'll bring mine. Just for S & G's

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 19th, 2006

Hey everyone,

Wow, we've already got 47 cars signed up for the Cookout. Thats awesome! Keep them coming.

I'd also like to thank both Brookdale Mitsubishi and LSE Performance. They are both main sponsors for the All Mitsu Cookout. And because of there sponsorship, we'll be able to keep the price of the Cookout at $5.

later,
Curt

I may be coming as well now that the car is working and it looks a little better. Just going to see what everyone else is doing first, and wait until I have an official "passenger" before I sign up.

I'll try to come. Its right as I am getting ready for college and my birthday as well, but if I can get away for a day and the Talon decides to be good and run, I will try to make an appearance.

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 19th, 2006

A great way to help me advertise the cookout is by handing out flyers. I have a flyer for the All Mitsu Cookout made. Its at:
http://www.mn3s.org/cookout-flyer.doc

You can print these off and give them out at events, or even if you just come accross a nice Mitsu on the road. Its a great way to get the word out.

Also, if you want to add the jpeg at the top of this thread to your signature, here is the code:

[url=http://www.mn3s.org/all_mitsubishi2006.html][img}http://www.mn3s.org/cookout-banner06.jpg[/img][/url}

(just replace the two "}" with "]" and it will display fine on most messageboards)

I know there are Mitsu owners out there helping spread the word for me. I appreciate it.

Thanks,
Curt

Curt- I've been telling a few friends of mine about it and hopefully they will come down. None of theirs run, but they still want to check out some of the running ones.
