JET's Dyno Fun

1 Attachment(s)
Well I went up to DB Performance and got my car dyno'd tonight. Their dyno setup kicks ass! Nice open spot for it. Shane we all know is a good guy and I got meet Dan. He is also a really nice guy, even though he's a mustang guy :D Shane did a kick ass job tuning as usual and the car runs great. I ended up making 511 AWHP and 441 lb-ft of torque. This was at 29 psi, I have hit a big restriction and turning up the boost to 32 psi didn't help at all.

I still have the stock intake manifold on, so I know that is part of it. I also am running an SCM61 with a TO4S cover, so the mitsu exhaust side is a pretty good restriction at that level too. Remember the power was AWHP, so add 5% - 10% for the FWD conversion if comparing to Elite's numbers.

Quick list of mods:
2.4l with 8.8:1 pistons
SCM61 turbo
AEM EMS
3" exhaust and O2 housing
ported head, +1mm valves, Crower 415's
spearco top to bottom FMIC
950cc injectors

Here is the chart, hopefully AJ can host it and put it up in the post instead of an attachment :D

Nice man! Crazy how your graph and mine are very similarly shaped, just you've got about a 40% power advantage on me! :)

Definitly a good time, maybe time to dust off those SMIM designs, eh? Maybe you should make two...

Nice work Jet. Now go get a sheet metal on her and belt out some more numbers. I'd bet you'd pick up 40 hp with no other real changes. You might lose a touch of that 440 ft/lbs of torque though. :D

Makes me wish I'd just left mine alone. Nah.

Great numbers. I was wondering if you were going to post up the numbers. So are you thinking about running NOS at all to get past the 600 mark?

Nice numbers... good luck at the Rock if you go.

I'll get it hosted, I want to get a Dyno Page going for all the members as well. I guess we left too soon since it was at just over 400hp when we left with Boost Spike issues. What was the reason? MBC?

Sweet numbers JET. Thats a decent jump from the 498 whp it made on the dynojet last year. And I bet the mid range tuning is a lot better as well.

Nice job DB Performance.

Re: JET's Dyno Fun

Thanks everyone!

Chris - Yes, the SMIM's (I have 7 machined up) will be done sometime. My car is going to go under the knife this summer and get a SMIM, bigger FMIC, 3" IC piping and 3" TB. I have a HUGE work load this summer, so time may be limited.

x-pride - No NOS, this car will never have NOS as long as I have it. I also don't plan on going with a bigger turbo unless this one blows.

Another thing, this was on Steve Hill pump gas (111, but it came out of pump!) and not C16. There is some instant power to be made just going to C16.

Also, the car hit full boost at 5k on the dyno. On the street I see full boost at about 3800, so it has a great powerband. I am really happy with this setup, I don't like tons of lag.

Nice! Can't wait to see the car in action.

I hope to let Shane have another crack at tuning my car now that I have made a couple fuel upgrades to the system.

I don't think there is a 61 trim. It is a 56trim (61mm) for a GT35R. Like I said, a PTE SCM61 with TO4S cover.

Re: JET's Dyno Fun

Sure, bust my balls over semantics. ;) For the record, my pump gas is straight 100 octane unleaded from up in Dayton on 81.

JET did you buy that turbo from mike at QPR.

Nope, I bought it new from Shane. It was the turbo he was going to put on his car at one point in time.

I don't think mike had any turbos of his own at QPR. The one that was sitting there forever is mine.

Re: JET's Dyno Fun

No I had him sell an SCM61 for me. Just wondering who bought it.
