Spring's here, let the fun begin...........

For the first time in 4-5 years, the old girl runs and drives under it's own power. A little jump start and filling one tire with air is all it took and she idled at a nice comfortable 2000 rpm and drove down to my shop without a hiccup. She's going under the knife for a few small things and some more weight reduction, but no major surgery needed this year. And to think, it's not even season opener at the tracks yet. :D

I'm shopping for some new rims as we speak. Baby needs new shoes.

Bronze 16x8 would look pimp.

Looking good man! BTW, from what I've gathered, if you're still looking for those same rims as I am, apparently the only color they even have anymore is black. That's the scoop I got right from the manufacturer! Dick heads!

Looking good! 4-5 years? I saw you at hollywood video last summer and you had that car parked outside?

I meant running at the beginning of the year. Twice I've been building a new motor at this time because I got upgrade-itis over the winter. This year I'll stick with the 2.4 I built last season.

I like the hood too. Steve, you must have just put that on over the winter. I don't remember it being carbon fiber when you were at the Rock in October.

Re: Spring's here, let the fun begin...........

Yeah, I put it on last summer. It's getting painted real quick though, I'm not into the rice thing. Plus it's not stealth enough for my taste.

I need rims badly. 16x8 Volks would be the bomb yo, but I ain't got that kind of scratch.

I was going to say paint it.

Hey just noticed you have EVO seats what do you think about them?

I like them, very supportive. They are a little higher on the sides than I originally thought. I actually have to drop into them just like climbing over the side bar on my cage. I'm anxious to see how much support they offer when I do a road course this year. I'm guessing I could pretty much flip the car over and not move with those seats and the 5-points. Plus they're really light. :)

Looks very nice. I am assuming this is the same car that was at the cook out last year but not the one that was in your shop when my mom bought the car from you? Do you have 2 of the same color car?

Looks great steve! I have only seen it in person once when andrew and I came to get his GSX from you. Which on a off topic rant.. He sold it to a guy in plymouth for $8600 yesterday :)

Re: Spring's here, let the fun begin...........

I live right by Champlin Park HS in BP, but I don't keep the car here. I usually just leave it at my shop and pick it up for a Saturday or Sunday cruise and drop it off again. I'm planning on getting as much time at the track this year as possible, we'll have to get some groups together for track trips.

Which one was that, the maroon 97? A guy just called me asking about the car, I told him every good thing I could remember about it. I'll take my 5% comission in cash please. :D Just kidding of course, congrats on the sale.

A whole lot better since I put a spacer behind the pulley so everything is lined up properly. Plus I've rear-mounted the alternator now so it's all different. I've kept your number on speed dial just in case though. :D

Where did you get the hood? How much was it? It looks nice just as it is. I'd leave it. But do what you must.

Re: Spring's here, let the fun begin...........

I got the hood from Archer Brothers. They've had it for years, it was a return since it got slightly damaged in shipping. It was cheap. :p I'm going to paint it, since it's just a bit too rice for me, and that will cover up the light damage it has as well.

Got the dish taken care of, the rims in the picture are going on Berda's car, and the tires went to Jet. I got me some Volk TE-37's to take their place. :D

Thanks for the compliments, I'd probably be working on it if I wasn't driving an S2000 around. Damn I love this car. Needs more power though. ;) I think I'll have to line up with Hughes.

Swifty1638 04-28-2006 08:24 PM

Re: Spring's here, let the fun begin...........

do post pics asap withthe volks..bronze te-37's are my "dream" rims.
