When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
I'm getting ready to get excited and turn on the heat and music in the garage and start working to try to get the DSM's ready for spring.
Seems as though even with many set backs and dissapontments we all have for nice speed gains, hope always springs eternal each and every coming spring for a better year! When do you guys plan on getting serious about working on your DSM again? 1. Anyday now, I promise 2. Been working on it all winter, never stopped, come on it's a DSM! 3. Sometime in April <This year>? 4. Sometime in May? <Next year> 5. Whenever I can sell enough plasma and beer cans to afford my next mod? 6. I got smart, I'm done working on DSM's and now have a life again! |

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
well, i just got my whole car done..stripping the shell completely, to building it back up to driving conditions as it is now..suspension, wheels, motor, turbo, etc etc etc. Now, i gotta make a wastegate dump pipe, install the cams, and tune the biotch! not a bad turnaround for about 60 hours invested over 2 weeks!

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
Short term, I need to install a FP T-28, and get good tune using DSMLINK and the PLX-300.
Mid term, I'm saving up to get all my A/T PIG work done this year, IPT Stall, Valve body, shiftkit and End cluthes. Get some AWD Dyno time from LSE. They will do most of the tranny work as I'm still a relitive n00b. Long term, 2" drop and new shock/springs, 75 ZEX shot. |
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
haha LSE just got my car done for me! I am enjoying thoroughly!
|
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
I started working on it in January when I got a garage I could use.
|
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
I will start working on the SQ in a few weeks. As for the DSM, it's over, thank Allah.

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
Tomorrow, if all goes to plan, new front axles, lower ball joints. redline fluids. Brakes all corners. Tuesday, 2G 5 spoke rims w/ Toyo T1R tires. Then hopefully 3" turboback exhaust in the next few days.
|
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
Screw you guys, I'm driving mine! :)
Seriously though, I'm dropping it off at LSE on Friday for some new ball joints and wheel bearings. I figure if I'm going on vacation, I might as well get some work done while I'm gone! |
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
as soon as the sun comes out again, so I am not laying in a snow bank, wrenching and swearing
|
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
I haven't been out in damn near a month because I've been working on my car everynight. I was supposed to be done this weekend, but that backfired. But I still have a lot of side stuff to do, like powdercoat all my charge piping, allignment.

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
Still have to finish the poly suspension bushings. Not really looking forward to that.
|
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
No more DSM for me, but I'm sure I'll help Cory with his again once the snow melts.
As for my car, it'll continue getting modded once it comes out of storage in April. |
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
My DSM is pretty much sold. As soon as I get back to Texas I'm turning my DSM over to a buddy of mine. I see a black Z06 in my near future....

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
Looks like "got smart and sold mine" and "always working on it" are the trend in this poll?
What does that seem to tell you about DSM's? Endless heartache, nightmare & moneypit comes first into my mind? I must be stupid, but we are STILL going to try to get some gains on this DSM AGAIN this year! |
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
well, good news, i started my car tonight. yes. it runs so good, idles perfect and i haven't even timed it yet. mechanical lash adjusters will need some fine tuning, and i need to get a couple more things straighened away on the car, but hot damn, this is gonna be a fun ass summer.

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
I just got in from wrenching on the DSM. I finaly cleaned the garage so I could push mine in to be worked on. Mainly focused on some cosmetic shit that needs to be taken care of, prepping some parts to be painted. The bigger problem is that I don't know what exactly is wrong with my engine but I am going to guess a spun bearing. I miss shifted from third to second last fall, the day after that the car started to make awful sounds.
It would be nice if someone with some DSM experience could swing by and listen to the car after I start it up and give me their opinion. I'd like to get someone elses opinion on what might be wrong before I commit myself to doing a teardown. I am pretty knowledgeable about cars in general but this one has me stumped. Free beer to anyone who swings over. :) Jim |
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
#2 - never stopped working on it.

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
I'm actually about done..(knock on wood) :D . I started working on mine at the end of december.. there was some down time since the engine shop took forever but it is actually going to be started up TODAY! lol

Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
Never.
|
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
Looks like I need to do some tranny work now. Case has a hairline crack in it from the Center Diff Pin backing out.
|
Re: When will you start seriously working on your DSM again?
I get back from school beginning of may, so both of my cars are undergoing some serious wrench time from the 2nd week of may all the way up until the last week of august when I move back up to St. Cloud for school.
