Dunno if it'll help but it looks sexy. Need to figure out the small bits and a make a temporary mount...will probably have Primo powdercoat and/or make a more attractive plate later on.

Re: Evo X upgrades

I'm close to buying a stock fuel hanger from a guy that is upgrading to a fuel cell. It's costing an arm & a leg, of course. Reverting the in-tank hanger to stock and dropping in a Jay Racing pump should solve my issues. That combined with the surge tank and Weldon should make for a solid setup.

Once I'm sure I have the hanger I'll have to look at AN-fitting adapters for the stock hanger, get another pump centering ring...and a bulk-head fitting for wiring. Since I don't have the stock electrical plug I'll have to rewire the hanger and feed the wiring out through another hole.

I've never been so excited about an OEM part. The guy is sending me both the hanger and the wiring plug! So awesome.

I think I'm going to hold off on the Weldon install until after Proving Grounds. This will tell me for certain whether it was the Full Blown hanger and I might as well wait until real E85 is here for a retune.

YAY OEM PARTS!

I am guessing the stock hangar will fix quite a bit.

Do you have a 255 in tank to fill the surge tanks? Or did you end up with the Jays racing one or something, I have lost track.

I'll be throwing one of the Jay Racing 300lph pumps in it. In theory that should be adequate overkill since at 0-4psi they flow 425.

I ordered a fuel pressure gauge for the surge tank since I want to see if the -6an main tank return is being overwhelmed.

The guy I bought the fuel hanger from has been incommunicado for a week now. Strange considering how he said he'd ship the moment he had the Paypal. :(

I keep hoping it'll be here when I get home.

Probably time to cancel the paypal and tell him he can get it back when he decides to talk to you again.

Yeah Spaz, I figure I'll wait until Friday because the item is rare and I need it. boo.

Looks like it'll arrive on Thurs. UPS ground from CA to here always blows. I'll have that sucker in this weekend if all of the pieces are there.

Ran over to simulatedwood's place to work on my car and forgot the lug key in another one of my plastic bins. Fuuu...

Found out that I'm leaking a fair bit of oil from the turbo oil supply line (banjo bolt on the motor side). I think I'll let RS Motors handle that one. If the line needs to be replaced then I've heard it isn't much fun due to the tight workspace on the turbo side.

Re: Evo X upgrades

You probably just need 2 new crush washers. They should not be reused...but most people do.

Yeah, just need to figure out what to buy. I think I saw a box of assorted crush washers at Northern Tool last week. Ron said the same thing about re-using them but I'm guessing that DB wouldn't do that.

I discovered a leak on my car in the same spot just this past weekend. I gave it a 1/16th turn to torque it but if the leak persists, a new set of copper crushwashers will go in. It's a tight spot but w/o an undertray on all I needed was a 17mm socket on the end of my flexi ratchet and it fit right in. They are sometimes a small PITA when replacing the crushwashers because you have to re-align the banjo bolt. The bolt wants to go perfectly straight in the head of the feed line and if that is off-kilter even a little (which is easy to do) it will not want to thread into the block. The solution is to pull it back out and very carefully tweak the line itself so it is straight then try again. Oh, and oil drips out of it the whole time too :D

I'm already loving and hating that SSP undertray. I wonder if it matters much for aerodynamics or not. Oh, well.

Re: Evo X upgrades

I'm sure it helps with aero, no question. Maybe take the time to fit some dzus fasteners while you have it off :)

Looks like they're about $3/ea. Not terrible but the tray probably requires a couple dozen. I'm not sure how they account for depth (if they are loose and allowed the tray to bounce then that won't work). I'll have to measure the D-rings that SSP sends for depth. The dzus at 12mm don't sound very deep relative to the stock holes.

OEM parts! I undoubtedly overpaid for it but it's exactly what I needed and the guy gave me a nice amount of lead wire on the plug. fuck yes.
