Holy shit! Fire must not have lasted long?

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Maybe 30-40 seconds. Felt like forever it only melted a few wire looms and heat shrunk a few wires I forgot to ;).

All in all though I didn't have to do anything underthe hood besides swap rails to get it to start. So that's good.

The neutral safety switch also but that wasn't much more than a bolt tightening.

Me: Where's your fire extinguisher?!
Nick: Push the car away from the house!
Joel:

I'm glad there was no damage. What caused the fire? It's cool you got it started.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

The fuel rail was leaking so I took the feed off the rail and wanted to point it up so nothing leaked out. Went to put the line in the hole where the wires go through for the wipers and boom instant flames.

Had to of been caused by static is my only guess.

Lol nice, can only laugh since its seems like no damage was done. Glad to hear its running.

That's really gay that happened. But at least it didn't hurt anything. Glad to hear it started! That picture is awesome too!

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

I wish we would of got a pic of the flames. But at the time all we could do was put it out. Tom wanted to but didn't wanna be "that" guy if I burned to the ground.

Yeah all I can do is laugh now

So after my mishap I finally got it sorted. Got the 20 minutes of run time under my belt and now gotta get my idle sorted, put the setting in link for SD and start putting some miles on this thing.

Only vid of it running super bad exhaust leak.

Man I need to cover that fp

Sounds mean! Good work man.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

So I buttoned up hopefully all my exhaust leaks (o2 to downpipe) and got my waste gate installed. It was almost 3 am when I finished. Countless wobbly harmonic balancer installs later I hopefully have one that's good. Again can't check cause of the time.

Gonna put the north and south crossmember in, hook up the trans cooler and front bumper/plates on and try and go somewhere tomorrow.

Thanks Tom and Carl again.

Mike I might go that way depending on if I have to to to elk river for some more tuning help.

Ill text ya if I head that way though.

Rain needs to let up to I not have my al seasons mounted yet so ill be driving around on DR's which isn't optimal. Lol

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

We just got it dialed in now for getting the 1K put on.

Tons of thanks go to Tom for getting it where it's at and drivability is pretty good right now.

Thanks works mint.

Plan right now is to head to BIR with Shawn (4seasons69) for the finals.

Got 250 miles on the car now so should have almost 600 by the time I'm back home Sunday

I'll trade ya some sweet Akuzas for your Koseis so you don't ruin those tires going to brainerd. ;)

To late on my way there now. Thanks though.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Made it to BIR and back no issues minus a heater hose leaking at the firewall. Got that fixed and all seems good.

500 more miles and time to turn up boost!

Also entered the car show while I was there.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Did you do any drag passes?

CornFed2.4 06-24-2013 12:31 AM

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Not tuned for boost yet. But if there is a rock falls before power cruise ill be out there.

If not first passes will be at power cruise then if all is good and I don't change anything ill be at pg2

But for really being my first actual build I'd have to say so far so good and the car feels really good. Can't wait to turn the wick up.

car looks good glad to see you made it there. kinda funny both nicks rockin identical looking cars.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Thanks for coming with.

Ill have to look at rock falls schedule.

Haha. Yeah we're like twins. Hopefully I can swap shells here soon though.

Also while at BIR I forgot to put the car on the scale. Would of been nice to see how much weight I lost.

CornFed2.4 06-26-2013 06:45 PM

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

So I'm at 650 miles. Only issues is keeping the car cool. While I was a BIR I had carltalon change the check engine light to come on at 225. I can barely keep the car under that unless going faster than 45. So gonna try some water wetter to see if it helps.

Also running out to Turtle Lake to grab parts for my edge so by the time I get home I should've at almost 800 miles. Probably can start tuning within the next couple days. Be sweet to go to rock falls Saturday.

Gonna do a comp test tonight to at a buddy's to see what's up.

You get that gan wired in yet?

CornFed2.4 06-26-2013 06:56 PM

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Ya I did it on the side of 35w today while I let the car cool down since traffic sucked.

4seasons69 06-26-2013 06:58 PM

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Gotcha. You got two fans in there now? Or just one? Put a couple bottles of water wetter in and make sure you have all the air out of the system

CornFed2.4 06-26-2013 07:03 PM

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Yeah two slim pusher fans. So 2 bottles is enough? I just hope it helps. Might do heat wrap on the FP to try and drop the under hood temps a little.

4seasons69 06-26-2013 07:05 PM

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Yeah I would start with two bottles. You can always add more
