Re: All Mitsu Cookout -- Sunday, August 24th, 2008

134 cars. Getting 134 cars together in one place at one time is incredible! Expecting it to grow every year is not a reasonable expectation. Now had it dropped down to 50 cars I can see you being upset, but losing 22 down to 134 is not bad at all. How many people chose to attend the dyno day instead of the Cookout? That could make up some of the 22 right there. My cruises haven't grown every time which is fine with me, what matters is that the people coming have a great time! They've grown most years like your Cookout has but the last was was down a few cars and honestly so what, life goes on, everyone had a great time, and the people who didn't show missed out (exact same with your Cookout) :)

Point of this thread, don't get discouraged b/c if one minor mishap!

looks like were not that far off from normal, just last year had a great turnout.

You tried something new, the two day event, and saw a decline on Sunday. As was said, what about the people that showed up Saturday and not Sunday? I still don't see why not breaking the 166 mark next year would be reason to throw in the towel. Stick with it. We love what you do for the Mitsubishi enthusiasts.

Very nice!! The two black Spyders were looking good as always. I saw your photoshoot going on from the registration tent.

I really think one big factor is the economy and cost of gas. If you factor that in, I bet you had a great turnout.

I am one of those that couldn't make it but wanted to. Things come up and sometimes things that need attention need to be taken care of.

I am planning on showing up next year.

I was sooo happy to see the AWD Spyders taking the top 2! Too bad the other AWD spyder there didn't get 3rd haha! (I think because he came late, and parked way at the end, not many people noticed it).

On another note, I was sad no one even took a picture of my car lol! I have a burgundy 1g with 2G rims... and I guess it's a pile of pooh.

I thought for sure you'd take a trophy. Hell your's is almost as clean as mine but with more mods. O well, thanks for the oil cap! lol

Gene Helms use to own a 96 Stealth R/T TT that was absolutely mint. He use to come to the All Mitsu Cookout from Davenport, IA. He died several years ago. He was in his 60s. Since then I've dedicated this trophy to him.

Gene's car is the red one on the left: http://mn3s.org/umg2003/cookout6.jpg

Thanks,
Curt

Thanks for the pic.

And also a note about Brookdale Mitsubishi. Went there today for the first time and it is a very friendly dealer. Great service in the parts department and seems to be nice people in the car lot too.

They had a couple of used Mazdaspeed 6s... decent prices. Didn't know they were AWD. Wow.
