Glad to hear you got the oil leak fixed. Awesome numbers! Can you post up a boost plot. Would also like to see an overlay of scheides vs your current.

NICE! So, game on for dyno day then? :D :D :D

Maybe, but doubtful. Shane said he needs another two hours with it. So prolly won't happen until Monday. I'll let ya know though.

Go back a page, they're both posted.

To add to my overlay of our cars earlier:

My car peaks at 32psi, yours just barely touches 31.
http://scheides.com/misc/pics/evox/o...-ef4-31psi.jpg

So your car makes more torque down low with less boost and almost the same power midrange and up top with less boost! I'm impressed with your setup man--leave it and drive it! :D

I'm impressed with the EF3 and EF4 so far! Maybe i should have tested the EF2...damn it

Got the car back tonight! It scared me when I went WOT, a great sign :)

The open dump is pretty loud, lol, but its not too terrible imo, we will see if I get sick of it.

Here are the final graphs.

nice power on lower boost.

Just glad to see it running again. :D

Good god, epic! Just curious, what's WGDC at through the upper midrange and way up top? Any more boost left in it? Seems low but then I remember you have that extra .2L to make more power at less boost with :P

Fukin sweet powerband, looks SO strong up top! My car peaks around 7000-7200 and falls off ~30whp by the time it gets to 8300rpm, yours is preeetty damn flat from 6800-8500! Insane!

Remind me, are you still on the stock IM/TB?

Also, what IDC are you peaking at?

I attached a log for you. It's one I took today on the way home from DB on a 3rd gear pull after filling up with gas.

We were not maxing it out, I didn't want to push it anymore than we already did. The actuator was supposed to be a 1.7 bar one (roughly 24psi) but only held 19psi tapering to 16psi on wastegate boost so I think with a stronger spring it would hold more up top.

Yes, I am on stock IM/TB. Those are really the only future upgrades I have for power aside from t3 kit which will happen if I ever get bored.

Not sure on this one.

You have to enter scaling into evoscan to log this right? I have never logged IDC.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Holy crap, just looked at your logs. Timing is super conservative....then again you have higher compression so I guess that could skew my perception of what is acceptable. Tune looks very nice though.

IDC peaks at 91.9% @ 8000rpm.

WGDC is not maxed, so you probably have a bit more left in it.

You need to wire your wideband into your ecu.

You need to rip this until next year, perfect DD setup. Log it periodically, have some fun with it!

Murlo26 09-27-2011 08:51 AM

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Shane said yes it is conservative but he also said what you did, that with the higher compression this could be just "normal" for timing.

The log only goes out to 8000rpm on this pull and we tuned to 8800 and up there I think wgdc is maxed but I could be wrong.

Shane asked about the wideband already as well as he wants to see some transitional stuff on the road in between gears, he thinks I could be running a bit rich. I have my AEM wideband, I was planning to work on it this weekend and see if I can get it wired in.

Overall, I think the tune is a tad rich, tad low on boost and a little conservative on timing, basically exactly what I wanted :)

I am sure another 30whp could be had and quite a bit more torque with more boost and what not but for now I am happy.

Looks good, Dave. I was up at DB yesterday when the final pulls were being done, sounds nice!

Thanks bud!

On the dyno it just seemed loud and I thought sounded great, on the street the open dump seemed a little raspier and still loud.

I don't hate it by any means but it will take getting used to it.

It is only at WOT so its not so bad at all, but damn, its loud lol.
