You done good! So the hood it looks like you painted those scoops black more than they came. Did you just paint that yourself or did you bring it in somewhere? Or is is some sweet fibre wrap?

What is done to the front hood covers up by the windshield? Mine are the color of the car, but the spoiler, front lip, and side vents are black stock. I like the side lower sills, but not sure if it would make the car too hard for us short fat people to get in and out of.

The car was hard to get in and out of before those, I cant imagine now haha,

Re: 2007 Lotus Exige S

The front access panels are not OEM pieces, they are carbon fiber with a gloss coat (unknown who made them), they each have 2 of the little vortex generators on them, I'm sure they are just for looks. I actually sold my stock panels for more than I found these CF ones for. Side scoops are also glossy CF.
However, the side sills and wing are both a satin black. It would be nice to get carbon parts but they are crazy expensive for those items. I just lucked out and found the side scoops and access panels for cheap.

Wow, yeah, it looks 1000x better now. I haven't really been a fan of these baby Lotii, but that second pic could change my mind. Hmmmm.

Clam off, was actually pretty fun, took about 3 hours. While it's off, I'm removing the last of the emissions stuff. I've had the blockoff plates for awhile but never got around to installing them because it was hard to reach.

Also getting the paint fixed on the rear clam, body should be should be good as new after this. I'll get a pic of the rear in the light tomorrow, it looks pretty sweet.

Re: 2007 Lotus Exige S

Drove it to the body shop, they re-installed the rear clam, then drove it home and installed the lights, battery, hatch, wing, etc and then the new owner drove it home.

The rear clam looked awesome, paint was perfect. Wish I could have enjoyed it a bit like that but oh well. The guy is local and said I can come ride around or see it if I want to reminisce.

Yeahs whats next? That was fast!

asshanson 04-15-2014 11:36 PM

Re: 2007 Lotus Exige S

Yea, it was really fast, didn't even get a chance to take a few last pictures because it was dark when we finished putting it back together. New owner said I could stop by after our trip and get some then.

Noble M400 is at the top of my list right now, but the one I was going to buy sold two days ago. Open to other cars as well, but I really liked how lightweight the Lotus was.

Buy an Evo! (I wanted to get that out of the way before the usual Style crowd comes in and says it).

Andrew - you turned that Lotus into a great looking machine. I'm excited to see what comes next!

Lotus is so much nicer than that. Its a cool concept but the interior is terrible and just doesnt stand out as much to me.

Halon 04-16-2014 01:48 PM

Re: 2007 Lotus Exige S

Agree the interior looks cheap in those. And the exterior finish on that one looks kinda meh. To me the nostalgia for those is the fact you can say you built it, but if you didn't and just got it off ebay then I'd look elsewhere.
