Also, don't forget to cash those lottery tix! :) Hope you had a good bday man!

Thanks! It was a very fun birthday and I'll get those tickets scanned today.

I really wish I would have had you drive my car to Rogers to better experience the short-shifter; I do really like it. Oh well, we'll add that to the "next time" list too!

LOL no kidding! I swear, my TX plates saved me from getting pulled over twice this week by the always friendly MN Troopers. My guess is they wanted me for tint or front plate until they realized it's not a MN car.

Awesomeness! Great numbers! The motor is still tight and new, Now go out and whip that horse a bit so you can free up some more horsepower. ;P

Yep, confirmed the X is a great road tripper, On my DD, you numbers on the mileage are identical to what I experince. One thing I did note though my 70 mph is the sweet spot for optimum mileage. (27 mpg)

As far as the numbers game goes on the dyno between cars, different days and different conditions, lets just leave it at that. Bummer Kracka did have a baseline to see how much power he gained, but timing is sometimes a bitch. Glad you were able to show off the new ride while in MN, wish I could have had a chance to drive it before you are gone. Have a safe trip home.. see ya in the SB.

Luckily it's an easy drive and I'll be back. Sorry I forgot your antenna on Thurs night, Scheides has it now though so you can grab it from him whenever.

Pretty much a straight pipe, so fair guess.

Love the Perrin, but hating the fact that they used powder coating on the Stealth model. I might get an ETS anodized in black and sell the Perrin (assuming they send me a new one under warranty).

But after seeing lomker with a lot more bolt ons do the same power, scheides and you...maybe my car "was" strong, maybe thats why it blew up, lol.

Once again, you basically have no exhaust and you can hardly hear my car. I was even running an HFC at the time...

Wish I could have made one of the events. My schedule blows at times.

Install looks nice! I like the 1 piece uicp! Yay shane! What did you car put down as the baseline?

We didn't get a good baseline since I arrived with the MBC set at 11 psi (just installed it and babied the car to DB). I think Shane was making a bunch of changes while we were also in the process of getting the boost set so it would be tough to even guess.

If you get a new silver one as the warranty replacement and want to sell it cheap so you can get an ETS let me know; I'd possibly be interested in buying it off you. Perrin has offered me a new one for $500 shipped, but at ~$400 I'd bite immediately.

You've obviously got the hook-up at Perrin. I should be able to sell it for the same.

2,752 miles later and GheyrodX is finally back in Texas! Only one broken part too which I suppose is good for a Mitsu... My rear swaybar started making a lot of clunking noises as we pulled into our alley last night and a quick peek under there and it looks like I either broke a rear end-link or the nut just came loose and the bar came off the end-link stud. I'll get under the car tonight after work and figure out what the actual problem is.

I honestly couldn't be happier with the car though! It ran so perfectly the entire trip, even in the stop n go construction traffic in Oklahoma with 102F temps...not a single hiccup from the intake (or tune) with the A/C on. Hot weather + A/C fan + intakes are a big problem for the X's, but AFE obviously did their homework and properly designed the heatshield and filter placement.

We left Minneapolis at 3:43 am Sunday morning and rolled into our garage at 6:05 pm Sunday evening for a total of 1,005 miles in 14 hours and 23 minutes which included 3 or 4 gas stops, some rest area stops, and stopping for breakfast and lunch.

I again have to give a big thanks to Scheides and Spaz for assisting with the parts installs before my tune and of course to Shane for tuning this thing so perfectly it can make it across the country with temps ranging from 60F to 102F on everything from BP 93 to shitty Cum & Go 91 without even a hesitation. After such a long trip my IX would always just feel sluggish and tired, but the X took it all in stride and felt 100% the entire time.

A few places make endlinks for us now Kracka, SSP does for sure if it is broken.

Grats on the new tune and all :)

Loud means power right? ;) But for real, the entire reason I went with the buschur exhaust was because it was such a straight through design..the more power i start making the more and more it will shine.

That's what honda and rotary owners seem to think....

Newb fail!!! The nut holding the bar on the end-link stud backed itself off and the link was able to pull out of the bar. Luckily I had a spare nut/washer in my toolbox and all is well now. While I was under there, I moved the links to the middle adjustment setting.

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!

Just as a little update: I haven't even logged my car once since getting tuned ~1,500 miles ago :D I've been, lets just say, enjoying the car to the fullest! I've never gotten a knock flash on 93-octane gas/maps, and only once on my 91-octane alt maps running crap gas.

I should probably log it this weekend to see where boost is at though since it was set on the dyno and hasn't been checked since. My IX for example lost 3 psi with the elevation change moving to TX, maybe my X will want more boost too :)

Thats very cool that you drove all the way up to Shane for a tune. Thing sounds like a great car if it took everything you threw at it and it took it all like a champ.

The guy who bought my IX came over last night and I was able to snap a few pictures of the two cars. Yes, he is still rocking the MitsuStyle stickers :D

Sounds like the buyer has been doing some track days and is overall very happy with the car! Said it needs stickier tires and stiffer springs for the track though which is to be expected.
