Re: 91 Galant VR4

For the engine dyno they have a Aeromotive Eliminator pump, which has supported a 427 with a F2R super charger making around 1000 crank HP on E-85, and 8 1600's running it. In the car I will go with a Fuel Lab pump of similar size, they have a built in voltage regulator.

F2R + 427 =

What Fuel Lab pump were you planning on? Sorry for all the questions, just its cool to see some one local go crazy on a build and I'm always trying to get new ideas.

Also curious because I guy on the link forums had a 42401 FueLab pump and he has had it fail twice on him already. Can't wait to see this thing in action.

Back on all 4, with the fenders just bolted back on with some original factory mounts.

A lot of gussets and a new steering wheel mount.

I added some material to the strut mounts.

I will have 3 injectors per runner. That is a custom 1 1/4" aluminum fuel rail, I just need to weld on some -10 AN fittings. The secondary fuel injectors are as high up the runner as they can be. They are mounted on the bottom to provide a little cleaner look to the engine bay.

Here is the finished exhaust manifold.

Here is the pipe bender converted to hydraulic power. It now uses a 2" cylinder with a 10" stroke to bend the pipe. This is a 12v DC hydraulic power supply so a car battery with a battery charger back up is used during bending. It will do a 30 deg bend in one stroke of the cylinder and the system is really quiet and works great. We decided to build another work bench along the west wall of the garage so we needed to eliminate the hand operated bending arm. I have a few more pics in my garage section of my photo gallery. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/useralbums.php

Now that is what I call a fuel rail! Good call on mounting that beast on the bottom, would look a little clustered with 12 injectors... :D

Re: 91 Galant VR4

is that going to clear the starter? or things like the alternator (if it's on the backside)? Either way, that's art! I'd put it up top!

That manifold is nuts! Keep up the good work. Wouldn't mind having that pipe bender either lol.

Yea he's a local guy, Both pumps were bought brand new and both failed on him within a few miles. Why not just go with the A1000 or the Eliminator pump? I know they need a voltage regulator, But one of those can be gotten cheap.

Looking good John, I want a ride when its finished...

Re: 91 Galant VR4

I will be going to discount steel tomorrow to pick up some aluminum square stock to make the frame to hold the front clip together. Right now the design will not have a hood that opens but pulling just 4 pins and a few zuss fasteners the front clip will slide of off 4 tube round tube pegs, then a multi pin connector for the head lights and turn signals. I try to post pics as needed, is there any parts of the car that I have not showed that you guys want to see?

Re: 91 Galant VR4

I gt an idea to do that to car a while ago when I learned about those connectors, keep up the hard work there is a lot of us that can't wait to see it.

What are your plans for rear suspension? 4 link with a ford 9" or keep blowing up stock axles? haha

Re: 91 Galant VR4

Is the turbo in the IC mock up pictures, the one you're using?

Re: 91 Galant VR4

Yes, its a journal bearing garrett GT 4202 with the 1.01 divided exhaust housing. This is the turbo I bought 6 years ago and it has about 20 miles on it.
