Speaking of, I still need to get mine installed. |

-- I threw a couple CELs on the way to work. The 'front o2 slow' that I've seen plenty of lately and rear o2 'no activity'. I've been getting the latter since I had the car tuned. Shot Shane an email to see if the rear was disabled for some reason. I may need to roll back to the old tune and AMS intake. After seeing the gooey stuff on the end of my injectors last night, I'm wondering if my hard lines might be obstructed somehow. I don't suppose it'd cost too much to run new lines direct to the engine bay. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
The gooey stuff is somewhat common for running e85. I ran for over a year once without checking them and one clogged it had so much junk on it. A minute or two in an ounce of gasoline clears it right up.
I'm guessing the rear o2 is disabled since it's only for emissions, but it shouldn't be throwing any rear o2 codes if that is the case. Good luck figuring things out. |

The Bosch is moving a lot less fuel than it should be. Running new lines would probably cost the same as two more hours of failed tuning. Of course it's shooting in the dark, like always. Quote:

Re: Evo X upgrades
Alcohol can't dissolve that gooey junk like gasoline does. Soak the tips in 1/2" gasoline in a little cup and the gas will turn black absorbing it all in a couple minutes. There was a big study on this on link awhile back, I can't remember if they determined the source of the black goo that the alcohol can't absorb or not.

2010 vs 2008. Turning off rear O2 stuff is not as easy with the 2008s.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Shane theorized that my oil burning was fouling out the front o2 and causing my problem at cruise. He created a ROM for me that runs in open loop as a test. I went for a short drive and the car ran absolutely awesome. I'll see how it does on tomorrow's commute.

I think 311evo's car had some o2 sensor problems as well and Shane made a tune similar to your's that only ran it in Open Loop and it ran perfectly afterwards and even got better mileage than he was getting when he used the o2 sensors. |

The important thing to me is that I've eliminated the custom Primo intake as being a problem. It's a huge plus when you can isolate something. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
I've done a number of pulls in the last day to baseline the AFRs before isntalling the afpr and trying the BAP again over the weekened.
I must say, driving that car is like a drug. The only time the cams really lope is right after a hard run...for a few seconds it sounds like Matt D's car. God, I LOVE THAT. Hope the car is running well for BIR on the 20th. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
I received the Prosport fuel pressure gauge, DW1300 injectors, and Magnus master cylinder today. My goals for this weekend are to plumb in the afpr and wire in the gauge. The Magnus will permanently go on the shelf "just in case" and the injectors may be returned or resold pending my next visit to DB.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Apparently I FAIL at putting connectors on -6an fuel line. It leaked and the line was too short by the time I found a technique to do it correctly. I ordered some more line so I'll give it another try on Monday night. :D
I got lucky and picked a setting that made my cruise AFRs perfect. If it weren't for the leak then I'd be thrilled. The setup was looking very nice other than that. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
Glad to see that things are progressing nicely. :)

Re: Evo X upgrades
That Magnus clutch master cylinder is the best one on the market IMO. The SSP sounds like a total pile of junk...plus it's more expensive.
