Glad your issue was fine, but now you must be good at pulling the pump.

LOL, you could, still wouldn't be too close I don't think :) Assuming you didn't spinout.

I was already good at it, done it a bunch. I just hate doing it, gas gets all over, its smelly and the backseat isn't a tight spot so its not fun working there. BUt I did figure out a few quicker ways of doing things. It's only like a 30 min thing, more of an annoyance if anything.

Now I can't go tuning though as mn weather is lame....

True.

I was planning to do that tonight...need to go buy an in/lbs torque wrench and I need a new low pro jack too as my car is pretty low now. I also have to redo all my gauges as well and move to my new gauge pod. I have plenty to do...I'd just rather be driving it.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

What torque range do you need in in/lb? I have one that you could borrow but it only goes from 10-50in/lb. Otherwise you can convert in/lb to ft/lb

Murlo26 05-01-2013 09:47 AM

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

I'll just buy one, need one that goes to 60in/lbs I think, for the battery terminals. I like buying tools, trying to start a good collection, can never have too many.

Thank you though for the offer.

4seasons69 05-01-2013 10:10 AM

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

60in/lb is 5ft/lb solid you have a ft/lb torque wrench that goes down to 5ft/lb you could use that. A lot of people don't like buying tools so u figured I'd offer lol. And I agree you can never have too many. Not sure how much you want to spend but there are some nice electronic ones out there that do ft/lb, in/lb, NM, and torque angle. It's nice having one that does everything.

Extreme photoshop tuners?

I thought it was pretty well known they were a pos fraud company?

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

I dunno, I just thought the idea of an 11,000rpm engine in an evo was cool lol. I would never actually buy it :)

I found it funny they didn't even have a website though.

There was a huge thread about it on High Boost forums, then the OP lost his balls and took all the pics down proving them to be fakes after they threatened a lawsuit.

There was also a bigass thread on EvoM about it.

That was my favorite thread on the internet last year!

I love how it just started out with a few people wondering why their "God" cars ran slower at the track than some fairly basic setups.

11,000 (or even higher) would be cool. But I'd look to an American racing shop who has years of proven results to build you one. They tend to have better results than photoshop in the real world.

Just Photoshop the dyno charts and timeslips...problem solved :)

^Shit we can do that?

My bike would've made over 200whp and ran 8s a long time ago!

Ever get the chance to get out and test the new fuel setup Dave? Weather is supposed to be nicer next week!

Murlo26 05-02-2013 03:22 PM

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Fuel system is good to go. We are cranking boost up tonight after i get a battery tie down for my new battery.

The fuel line showed no signs of leaking and it was working ok before. My tuner just questioned how much fuel he had to add in the tune itself to get it where he wanted and thought it might be leaking. So now we think its just my setup flows that much air lol.

So hopefully tonight brings fun :) I'd like to get to 25psi tonight, that should be 650ish I hope.

Turned it up, still not refined at all...635ish at 24psi :)

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps61ae17b8.jpg

Car is surging though..it can't eat all the air down low at all. Kinda sucks, need more displacement lol. Lil lean when we turned up the wick, lean is mean ;) No knocks or anything, car is feeling very strong, this is at 30%wgdc only haha.

Edit: Jon just sent this...

Car is for sure surging, Boost vs MAF, you can see the surge down low.

I wonder if the surge is effecting torque, it looks a little lazy down low? The 6266 sings at 34psi, turn it up! Keep turning it up, this is what it could end up like or more. Mine hits super hard, the only time I have experienced surge was part throttle boost. Our spool is very similar. Good stuff!

LOL 600wtq @5000rpm vs 350wtq@5000rpm. Murlo, boost. Do it. Taper down boost up top if you have to :)

Also, 12.5AFR through the midsection? Eaaaaassy...eaaaaaasy...

Down low is for sure affected by the surge, its not smooth at all and until it gets through the surge it just kinda pops. When that gets cleaned up and we add some boost I think it will wake up. I got a few new maps to try to fix the fueling in spool up and also dial back the mivec to slow it down a bit. He is going to add some timing and dial boost back on spool I think to try and wake up the botoom. More to come there. Even the way it is now it still feels pretty good :)

It will come, no worries. This was only like the 3rd map we did anything on, ran outta time last night. I hope to get a bunch done on Sunday. The new map also is richened up now up top. That being said my car has always seemed to like 12ish AFR's, so I don't think it was too bad.

See above, incoming :)

Oh, also, this pull was uphill a bit too lol. I am sure its 650ish on a flat road. Tough to find flat roads with no cops that I can rip on for tuning. Sometimes I really miss a dyno, not having to worry about that kind of thing (traffic etc), just makes it a slower process.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Did not do squat this weekend. I was kind of burned out on the car, needed a weekend without it. I am going to do some more logs tonight though for sure, its beautiful today.

Had a lot of family stuff this weekend and wanted to see IronMan 3 (it sucked, way below expectations).

After all that and a bit of a hangover sunday morning I didn't have the energy to even pull the car outta the garage lol.

I have a map with 26-27psi in it so I will give that a shot tonight and post up.

More boost incoming soon I think, lets see how far this wally 450 will go lol.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps0f9692c2.jpg

It's still looking good so far, so I think I was right to assume my injectors were what was maxed before and I am sure the fuel rail upgrade didn't hurt.

Cranked it up a bit :) Down low is a bit of a mess, it was the first run at this level and I ran outta time so I just cropped it. But here is the important stuff...now time to clean it up and call it good for now I think.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psbd248328.jpg

The car finally feels FAST LOL :) Shit ripped today...this was still slightly uphill too haha.
