lol, don't take anything I say the wrong way, I give a lot of shit but I'm here to help.

Be more confident, but being realistic is good too. I say that you will learn a lot about shift points because I know I did I picked .3 secs and did a lot better on the street.

Take your dyno sheet with you, shift so u fall back to max tq. and go from there.

Forgot to update this but I saw a ton of new people step up and hit the track at the MAP event at BIR! I got Trevor hooked on autoX and myself hooked in drag racing, that's for sure!

Anna and I are registered for the August 8 MNautoX Test & Tune at DCTC!

Me god willing...I have two goals for my car this year, well three if you count having it running again.

One, make the 28th mitsu cookout and two make a strip of some kind, BIR or Rockfalls, don't care. I feel cheated as I didn't make it to the strip last time due to technical difficulties.

That's the beauty of motorsports...there are so many of them.

I can't wait until Winter when schedules start getting hashed out for next year. I want to get to Road America, Blackhawk Farms, a BMW car control class, maybe that Evo Experience in Cali. Definitely the MAP weekend next time.

It kinda took me this year just to figure out what would be worth doing for next year.

It's cool lomker; I started this thread because I've been in the scene for waaaayyyy too long and never done any of this, just had a fast/fun DD. I'm just glad I was able to do everything I have so far this year despite a disappointing springtime incident :)

Yea, really. You've come a LONG way over this year..who knew! You fucking flipped/trashed/totalled a car (I saw it again 2 days ago) and already not only bought a new one, but raced, autox'd, dragged, and modded it! PROPS!

Don't know on the ETA, rumor has it I'll be able to hit the drags by the 28th (last chance to hit the 1/8th before the 1/4 in september). DB is boss, they'll handle it.

I just found a lapping day at Road America Oct 16,17. My only problem is that I bought a motorcycle helmet instead of an auto helmet and this outfit is pickier about ratings. <sigh>

What size do you wear? I'm in the big head club. XL in this Joe rocket.

What's a good helmet that's reasonably priced? The ones that I saw on Soloracer seemed pretty expensive (2-3x a motorcycle helmet).

It's a large, but I probably could have went with a medium. If you're going to be around somewhere sometime let me know and I'll bring it with. My HJC motorcycle helmet is also a large but fits more snug than this.

Test days will get you the most runs by far, but they cost more. You will get a decent amount on the sport compact days too, but the traction will be the worst. The bracket race days will have better traction, but the most cars and a lot of time will be for bracket racing. The Fun Days are usually in between the bracket days and sport compact days as far as number of cars and traction.

Anyone else wanna rally around Sept 11th? We could pay our respects to those fallen and the twin towers by doing what we love most: playing with cars! $69 is a lot but I'd love to get a couple runs with this clutch and the new turbo. maybe I can gun for a 13.0? :)
