Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

I got the new master cylinder today and installed it, then bled the clutch/slave and adjusted the clutch. I WORKS! it no longer ingages at the floor! it does however slightly move when the clutch is in and I rev it up but not bad at all.

On a side note I took it for a drive and the steering wheel shakes and when I turn right I hear a grinding noise.... This is just depressing

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

Your wheels might need to be balanced if the steering wheel shakes.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

^ yes I thought this but I'm not too sure as to what the grinding noise is..

After I got my clutch adjusted I reved it up to see if it would drag and my 2 step went off, after this my car only idles at 2200 rpm's... I am going to get the by pass plate ordered tomorrow and put my idle sensor back on.. you guys win

Might help to make sure the front 2 tires are tight.... FAIL anyways I snugged them up an were good to go! I got the front bumper trimmed up and installed yesturday and the car is fully driveable now but need to install some more parts. As stated I ordered some more parts but have my head studs to do and rewire of the fuel pump and hook up the bap. Got to have primo weld up my exhaust and make a dump tube aswell. After all is done I need to put insurance on it and get tabs. Finding more ways to spend money on this thing..

You have about an hour or 2 left of work. Get it done and get it tuned before next weekend

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

Well I'm back to being stumped on my clutch... It is engaging close to the floor but not all the way.. I adjusted he clutch the way you are suppose to do it and I'm getting this.. I am going to bleed the clutch/slave 1 more time and if this doesn't correct the problem idk what else to do.. I really don't want to have to pull my tranny but if I have to then I guess I have to. Also, I checked the clutch fork and it looks good but not only that when the clutch is to the floor the fork is all the way to the passenger side which makes me think that I'm in good shape with that. Any thoughts would be great.

95talonracer 06-17-2011 08:47 PM

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

What method did you take to bleed it? Did you bleed all new fluid from the reservoir to the slave completely?

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

Just to make sure you have the right info...

Shimming Pivot Ball
http://www.teamrip.com/when_why_and_...ball_info.html

Pedal Adjustment
http://www.teamrip.com/clutch_pedal_...ment_info.html

Bleeding Clutch (make sure you do steps 11 and up)
http://www.teamrip.com/how_to_proper...utch_info.html

I don't know if you're running a 1g or 2g trans but maybe try installing the 2g restrictor if you're using a 1g trans.

IF all those fail you can try running an Isuzu slave. It requires a little trimming but makes the pedal lighter and engagement longer.

GsXtUrBo98 06-17-2011 09:53 PM

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

Yes I did this. BUT when I was trying to bleed the slave and was holding it in, when they pushed on the clutch slowly it pushed the slave out so I'm hoping that the slave just needs to be bled some more.. Also, I am going to re re readjust my clutch peddle and see what happens. Also, the like I said before my clutch fork makes full movement towards the passenger side and couldn't move any farther.

blackawdtsi 06-17-2011 10:03 PM

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

So it's making contact with the trans case?

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

Not quite that far. That's too much.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

well I ordered some new tb shaft seals just to find out that the 1g n/a throttle body has different seals in it... Turbo ones are 14mm x 10mm x 3mm and the n/a's are 14mm x 10mm x 2mm..... So I read about this and people are taking the tb's to a machine shop and having them bore the recess 1mm deeper and sticking the turbo one's in. I think that this is what I am going to do. Others are just going to a parts store and getting the correct size and using just regular O rings in them.

I have a date with Shane on July 14th at 3! Just need to buckle down on the car and get it there so I can at least make it to the Import vs. Domestic.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

Still have to do the head studs and throttle body seals but everything else is done! Hope I can get my car back from Primo asap

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

I replaced the seals in the 1g throttle body and picked up a new gasket today from mitsu and got that on the car. Jesse said my exhaust and dump tube should be done tonight and I will be picking it up tomorrow and doing the headstuds at my house if all works out well... Things that have to be completed by tomorrow night.

Head studs
exhaust welded up
dump tube welded and mounted
uicp welded and mounted

I think that this is it! hope all goes well and I can get everything done for Shane on thursday at 3

OK so, I brought my car to Shane today and we gave it our best. I am running into ignition issues about 27psi so we had to stop at that mark... With the ignition issues being fixed he said I would have no problem getting over 500awhp on his dyno.

He also recommended running speed density with a AEM 5 bar. My GM MAF is all over the place. My main problem with the spark is that I'm not getting enough volts from my alternator to my battery. But I'm also throwing a alternator CEL. Any how here's the graphs.
