Re: House Projects

Here are some things that I have been working on. I threw down some tile in the upper bathroom a while back and that shower curtain is now gone so it looks better. The big project lately has been the lower bath that tarted out as nothing and now I have framed in and put up a shower that will be all tile with a small standard size bench and glass doors/walls. I got the rock up and corner strips up tonight and will be mud and taping after work during the week. Bad photos but will put up better ones once more is complete.

The bathroom that I have been working on is almost done. I just need to order the custom glass shower wall/door, box in around water lines and piping for the sink, put up towel rods, and put in a new door. Photos may look a little woerd since I used photomerge in photo shop to put multiple pictures into one.

Very nice, love that tile and wall color.

Wow that looks great! I've been thinking about doing this type of color for my bathroom, and I think I'm sold on it now.

Holy eff I love it. I love the large tiles all the way up the wall, and I love that style sink. It's pretty much right on with what I'd like to do with a master bathroom someday when I get a real house...

Just noticed the exposed plumbing, do you plan to cover that with something?

I think you would be better off getting a new vanity and countertop that goes from the corner over far enough to cover what looks to be the water shut off. That way you could have more counter space, and have a bigger sink if you wanted. Are you gonna put a mirror in there also?

I loved that style sink for the look of it, until i used one. (we had one at one of my old jobs) Its really hard to keep the water in the sink, seems like every time i used it no matter how much power the water had it would splash everywhere. But if it works great for you, awesome.
Besides that the bathroom looks great.

Re: House Projects

I am making an enclosure that will be more then just a cover for the plumbing. It will be part cabinet/shelf and hold the good ol TP as well. You won't be able to tell it was to cover the plumbing and yes the mirror is on order. The sink and faucet work great and all is staying. Dual flush toilet too so one button for #1 and another for #2

I built the entire thing myself from wall stud on up and it took WAY longer then originally thought but was worth it.

Ok as long as you flush it with the "#2" flusher and not the half flush.

98GSX, I might hit you up for some carpet work. I'm finishing my theater room and I'm down to the carpet. I am going to attempt tackling it myself but may need someone to take over and do it right. Anywhere you would recomend to get nice carpet at a reasonable price?

We had one of those at our apts in california. Pretty good idea to save water.

I don't care about saving water because I have a well but it looked cool so I got it. Good deal too.

To top that badass bowl off, you need to get an asian toilet seat. They require an outlet, and are heated and pressure wash your genitalia for you with warm water.

I got a guy, he'll come to your house with samples and everything. I personally, can get the pad for ya on the cheap! PM me more info on the size of your theater room, and I could def. help out.

BTW: That bathroom looks sick I love that tile and the way its brick layed over the standard square. Gives it a designer feel without adding crazy tiles here and there. Also, its good you went a little modern I see that stuff more, and more and I think it will be in for a while.

They are a little over $30 per tile for this specific ones.

Re: House Projects

I keep forgetting to post these pictures! I took these just before thanksgiving. I still need to get a couple closet doors painted and installed, but We've been too busy enjoying this space!! I also have a different mount for the TV that I need to put up that will hold it closer to the wall and at less of an angle. The mount currently being used is rated to hold a 200lb TV but with the 90lb TV it angles down I can't tighten it enough to withhold it.

Just before thanksgiving, and on black friday, I got a 58" Panasonic Plasma, surround sound and a PS3 to round out the project!

On to the pictures....

This picture is the wall directly behind the TV. I used a remote repeater and have everything hidden and love how clean it looks from the TV side! Its a little messy yet but nice to have it all out of the way.

Re: House Projects

Looks awesome Rosey! Is that the center channel of the surround sound on the floor under the TV? You should mount that right under the TV if you haven't already. From my experience, surround sound will sound best with all the speakers at ear level where you will be sitting. :D

LOL yeah it is.... I've been waiting to mount it till I put it on the new mount so that I can put it in the right place once! ... smart ass!

Re: House Projects

Well I've been motivated to get some more stuff done around the house. First quick and easy one is to redo my infamous "purple bathroom". It's exactly how it was when I bought this place, and am finally going to fix it once and for all.

I forgot to take a good before picture, so this is about the best I have. This is still the old flooring, it now has hardwood laminate.
http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...2&d=1233020415

But anyhow, best before pic I got. The plan is pretty simple.
- New Paint (same color as entry way, tan color)
- New TP & Towel hangers
- New light fixture ($30 from Menards)
- New door hardware (ditch the gold plated junk)

Again this is just a little townhouse so I'm trying to make improvements, but on a lower budget to maximize my return on investment.
