FUCKIN SHIT. I broke the TPS and the IAC motor + plugs so the car RUNS (after 3 hours of figuring out why it wasn't getting spark (Hondata K-Pro needed the map to ACTUALLY be re-uploaded and it wasn't a live change) and now it runs, but is NOT driveable). The damn parts can only be ordered and parts stores don't have them. FML.

Still great progress though! I like how you only need 4 IC couplers; plus the piping looks really clean.

Re: Back to 4 Cylinders

So the car stopped running again yesterday. Put the new TPS on, it started up, then it didn't read the TPS. I turned it off, got the TPS working in the K Pro. Then it stopped starting up.

AFTER 5 hours of checking shit out, found out it was the 4 bar MAP sensor that wasn't working. I put the stock map sensor back on it, then it STARTED RIGHT UP!

Got it running, put coolant in it, to find the thermostat housing leaking. After 2 hrs of calling around for a gasket, got it fixed. FIXED IT. NOW IT DRIVES.

and...today. Woke up to get the Optima battery recharged, it doesn't hold a charge and was mounted sideways in the fender so I couldn't get a NON dry cell battery in there, so I ended up relocating a regular battery to the passenger seat (temporarily) just so I could go give it a car wash and drive it.

AND FINALLY It's first tank of gas/e85

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...d/IMAG0184.jpg

car wash.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...d/IMAG0185.jpg

and finally all washed up. Gotta take that sticker off the side, but was too tired after rubbing off the 6 yrs of rubber off the door (burnouts from slicks from the previous setup).

Not sure... sometime soon after I do the Timing Chain Tensioner and make sure it's solid solid.

^X2. I'd love to see this car in action.

I'm liking the gold wheels, maybe I should get a set for my white beast!!?

Good luck getting it running solid.

You should. Bronze + white is pretty cool imo.

Just got the wheels all balanced, now nothing shakes. The front left was off by 3 ounces... I was hoping it was the tire balance because I was afraid that maybe a control arm was loose. Dynoing sometime soon. Gotta do the timing chain tensioner, getting most of the interior put back in, gotta get the battery relocated and the passenger seat in.

The solid ass motor mounts, small steering wheel, super stiff coilovers, and responsive everything make it feel like its a race car, lol. Especially after driving a Kia and 1.7L Civic for the past month.

Re: Back to 4 Cylinders

Civic

Let me know when you dyno.
I have nothing against the bronze combo, I'm sick of everyone and their mom running black wheels, but on my car it looks good. I need to get a fiber hood asap.

I don't remember, but I'm assuming you are running E85?
Any goals? track time at CFR in a couple weeks then?

Re: Back to 4 Cylinders

^^ Thanks!

BTW... all tuned and good and running and tire spinning. =) Fuck it feels weird to have tires spin.

Got on the dyno today at DB Performance thanks to Shane!!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...d/IMAG0205.jpg

After a few pulls and messing with the fuel pressure and running out of injector (cheap PTE 1000cc injectors I got - I may upgrade if I get a dual pump setup, a 5 spd, and a better clutch) so I was stuck at 18 psi.

(boost chart 18 psi)

(power/toque chart 520whp/369tq)

Took it out on the highway... scary as shit with these little 205/50/16 Nitto Neo Gens. Spin in 4th, a lil spin in early 5th and it wants to go over to the other lanes...

First thought: WTF have I gotten myself into?
Second thought: There's a WRX on my ass trying to race me...
3rd thought: too much traffic.
4th thing: get more e85
5th thing: run into Wolf0573's 1g DSM on the hwy that he JUST SOLD and smoked it, lol. Then chatted with the kids.
6th thing: WTF have I gotten myself into?

...and it will continue with tires, trips to the track, and more stories to come.

AND it made it home in one piece!

It's been a huge learning experience and thanks to these people for helpin me in this build. It's not done but there are a ton of people who've helped out.

Nice numbers!

I'm assuming you must have some big fat slicks for the track then? Or is that still on the to-do list?

Re: Back to 4 Cylinders

Badass man. Nice clear headlights too! You'll have to take me for a spin sometime.
