Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Congrats Mark! :woohoo1:
Do you have a 2 car trailer yet to bring both cars to the track? I'm not sure if you said earlier but are you going to drag race this thing cause you and MAP evo would be a good race to see who can go 9's first! |
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
<--- Jealous. Congrats on the numbers! He mentioned something about the road course.

As of right now I don't have plans on racing the car, trying to keep it a street car. That can always change tho. For some reason I like to make problems for myself, who knows I might see if MAP has extra space in that monster hauler they have. I don’t think that clutch would hold for a run down the strip and I don't have a cage. The only good race would be with my 1G, when I say good race I mean the car that makes it down the track on its own power. The MAP Evo and my 1G have had some bad luck. |
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
The car sounded great today on the dyno, congrats on the numbers! That's gotta be one fun street car. And with stock wheels, its gonna surprise the shit out of some people haha.

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
damn dude... good power.
|
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Mark we are doing 30-130 rolls at the show this year. It'll handle that.
|
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Holy crap great numbers! The powerband is amazing, does it make 25psi by 4500 on the street in 3rd too?
Just in time for spring :) |

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
that is crazy. congrats on the numbers! lovin' the torque line!
|
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
I just got a chance to analyze a log from a 2nd to 3rd gear pull. The car went from 44 to 109MPH in 2.76 seconds! This thing is an animal, the torque is crazy as the power doesn't quit.

That setup works, great numbers. I should buy one for my DD.

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Your truck needs a set of air bags for the amount of sag ;P
Still it doesn't sag as much as the Chevy or Ford HD's, awesome! |
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
See, just another reason for people consider a stroker motor: low end towing torque.
|
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
That is his dd evo I think with FPred on stock motor. He doesn't even need the torque!
edit: I take that back, I think his DD one is gray haha. Low end torque indeed lol. |

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Are you using the E98 just for the talon? Or does your evo get that shit too! Also how much is a drum of that stuff?

Very nice numbers :)
|
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Out of curiosity where did you buy the E98 from? Sort of looks like MAP in the picture.
And were they your drums or did you buy them full of fuel? I might be tempted to try E98 in my car when I'm home in the summer just because. |

Just don't mix your own E85 and expect the E85 from a pump to be anything like it.

Was that a 4th gear pull? Also forgot to ask yesterday, what kind of transfer pump are you using for the e98 barrels?

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Longest 3rd gear ever... Sure that wasn't 4th?!
|
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Its a load based dyno. It uses a electric eddy current brake to load the car. You set a ramp rate which is how fast the car accelerates. You want to slow things down to get a better sample rate for tunning.
Car sounds good man, was shoot out mode? |
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Quote:
Thanks John. The 656 was uncorrected. The shootout mode number was something like 765whp, close to the 771WHP it made on MAP's dyno. |
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
crazy numbers on that dyno! must pull pretty darn good!
