New Whiteline bushings installed along with the new Whiteline saddles. This bushing/mount setup is a bit wider than the original set so it should be a bit heavier duty while providing more bar stability.

Biggest Evo X intercooler core on the market as far as I'm aware:

http://www.dsmstyle.com/photopost/da...0922001743.jpg

MAP prototype FMIC
20"x14"x3.5" = 980 ci

There are much bigger cores available for the VIII and IX, but the X has less space, but does utilize a much more effective endtank in/outlet design.

Thanks! The cast end-tanks are really nice; very smooth internally. Looks to be a very quality core as well, it's a Bell which supposedly ETS uses too.

Rmondoh semi-debadged my trunk today, removed the "MITSUBISHI" and "Lancer" badges leaving the Mitsu logo and "Evolution."

I think I also finally figured out my exhaust rattle during hard left turns...looks to have been rubbing against an AYC line so I bent it out of the way slightly. We'll see once I get a chance to take a few hard corners.

Damn fine job if I do say so myself ;)

It looks better in person though. I'll take a good picture for you at the Dyno day.

Better semi-debadged pic from Rmondoh yesterday.

Strapped down @ Cobb, put down 313whp/300wtq.

I'll get the dyno chart posted later this week.

Dyno charts! I'm happy with my low-end spool and top-end above 7k RPM, but my midrange is ultra weak so I need to figure out why.

Nope, just not convenient for my life. I'm not going to drive out of my way for an E85 station 3 times a week; I just drive too much w/o a station convenient to me.

Lookin good! WGA crank mod will likely get you where you want to be, but it'll take away some of the linearity of the power curve. I don't think you'll be complaining :D

I still haven't installed it yet, but I did weigh it this weekend. It came in at 20.4 lbs. which is really light considering the size of this core. For comparison, the Perrin (cast end-tanks but a little smaller core) comes in at 22 lbs. The ETS 3.5" is 21 lbs. (sheet metal end-tanks and a fairly small core by comparison) and the AMS is 20 lbs. (cast end-tanks, medium size core).

My pre-install impressions of this thing are great! Nicely designed cast end-tanks, good quality core, and lightweight. Assuming this things fits well without trimming I plan to urge MAP to get this thing into full production.

More new stuff to install...

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6794403_n.jpg

I got it uncoated so I can try a coating place in Arlington, TX. Nothing against MAP's coating, I just wanted to try out a local shop since people have been saying great things about it.

Oh wow, they actually changed the logo orientation! Did you specifically ask for that or not? I recall from the picture you linked me of Scheides' pipe, the logo is upside down once installed.

Looking forward to helping you install this and the FMIC! (well not really the o2/dp, but I WILL be there to help out regardless :))

LOL no, but it's a full 3" the entire way through including the flex section. Looking inside it, I was shocked and how smooth the interior of the flex was. I really like this piece, high quality fabrication and components went into it.

Yup, I did specify to flip the logo compared to Scheides' pipe.

Much appreciated :D Maybe we'll do the intercooler next weekend...not sure on the downpipe since I need to get it coated first. I might tackle the urethane exhaust hangars tomorrow before your tune when you're over for 3-port and BOV install.

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!

GheyrodX will be going though some changes over these next two weeks:

intercooler
o2/downpipe
3-port (Cobb won't tune with a MBC)
Cobb tuned

They are pretty darn good. They have done all my tuning. You can check out the detailed post I made about my mod progress/process at this particular post:

Why won't they tune a MBC? Shouldn't it be customer preference? Seems kinda ghey to me.

Shane@DBPerformance 11-01-2010 06:17 PM

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!

He can get more midrange and maybe more top end boost with the EBC though, the stock X turbo drops boost like a rock a little after spoolup and needs a lot of overcompensation to help it.

Tuner choice...it is what it is I guess. My car just isn't happy right now and whatever it is, all the cars that Cobb tunes churn out great results. I've talked to the guys up at Cobb quite a few times now and I do trust the work their tuner (Calvin) does.

Nothing against Shane at all; he did wonderful work on my IX and Janelle's WRX and if he wasn't 1,000 miles away I'd be going back to him with my revised setup. I just have no interest in driving up in winter/potential winter conditions on worn stock Advans. I will be sad to lose my ECUFlash/Tephra though! I suppose I could always carry the tune over from the AP to ECUFlash and still take advantage of Tephra ;)

GG_9_SE 11-01-2010 06:26 PM

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!

That's true, but will they only tune an X with a EBC, or do they require all the cars they tune to have them.

3-port or stock BCS on X's and Subarus. I honestly don't know when it comes to older Evos and the other cars they support (G/Z, Si, MS3, GTR, etc).

Shane@DBPerformance 11-01-2010 08:51 PM

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!

They dropped support for the Evo 8/9 Accessports a bit ago, maybe they don't want to touch them at all.

They still tune 8/9's with the AP's. They actually have a customer looking for one so he can get tuned if anyone knows of a used one for sale...

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!

Wasn't there an AP for sale on evomn a few months back?
