Re: Ricer Pete's Galant

If you jam on the brakes, there's a chance the person behind you will be able to stop as well, and if they hit you, it's their fault, right?

Re: Ricer Pete's Galant

Lol, ya Pete you probably had a whole second to react, why didn't you think of all this!!!

polishmafia 11-19-2011 10:36 PM

Re: Ricer Pete's Galant

Yep, no shit. I had about a half second to react to the truck spitting the tire towards me.

The other half second I was busy thinking of skank tits and ass. Stupid me for not reacting!

Re: Ricer Pete's Galant

Yea Pete, I really dont know why you didnt roll down the window and direct drivers behind you that there was a tire in the road, in case your car spit it out too. How disrespectful!

goodhart 11-21-2011 08:36 AM

Re: Ricer Pete's Galant

skank tits and ass ftw.

I still have that 6g75 also, probably has some bent valves. Not sure of the condition, you could take a look if you really wanted.

polishmafia 11-21-2011 09:20 AM

Re: Ricer Pete's Galant

Thanks GH. The pan is the same (I have one on the way), but the oil pickup/strainer is different. The 6G72 has a different bend to it than the 74/75.

This. Drive and maintain them responsibly and they're just as reliable as most other sports cars.

MY CAR RUNS! New oil pan, oil pickup/strainer bent back into place (just a little prybar action), and 3 rounds of fresh oil... I got her back up and running. She is a tank!

Plus... I have a new ashtray! :D

Re: Ricer Pete's Galant

Congratulations on getting it running, however I would suggest you replace the pickup/strainer. That is designed to sit in one specific place for a reason and if it is tweaked could result in engine damage later down the road.

One of the big reasons why 3/s's spin bearings is that the oil pans get dented which messes up the oil pan to pickup clearances.

I completely understand what you mean, and you know I always value your opinion... but, the car has 186k miles, its been beaten, bruised and I all I'm hoping for it to make it through the winter.

I was completely surprised that it fired right up when I put the new oil pan on. So really, I'm just going to drive it until the Spring. :)

Well if the timeline is that short, let it buck. It's a good experiment. :aikido:
