Yea, I'll be working on that and the 47638739 other things I have to do haha. Gonna focus on installing my parts for now, once I get a good place and time to work up here. Now with the snow, I may try this logging sooner rather than later if Troy has time to fart around with it. I still don't have my laptop back. grr.

Looked a little further into this. Looks like I will have to the following to do standalone logging on the 8/9:

• Install the "Mode23" that you X guys use for logging??
• Download the Beta ECUFlash 1.43.3150,
• Format my micro SD card as FAT16 or FAT 32
• Install the logcfg.txt file onto micro SD card.

I *think* that should make everything work, still waiting for some of my questions to be answered on EvoM by guys who claim they have this working already. If I can figure it out, I'll try to write a how-to for it. This code stuff is waaay out of my realm though, so it may take a little while.

Ok, I've been talking to tephra and Aaron at English Racing as well as a few others. It sounds like a few guys have this working, and a few guys have it working, but with issues. Here is what I have learned in the past day.

• "Mode23" is not needed/does not exist for the CT9A (Evo 8/9)


What you do need is the following:
• Tactrix 2.0 openport
• SD card inserted into said 2.0 openport
• Have SD card already formatted as FAT16 or FAT 32
• Install the logcfg.txt file into root directory of micro SD card. (attached to this post)
• If you want to lof AFR's, follow this how-to


It sounds as if this is working flawlessly on at least one car that I know of. He has confirmed it is working on the 88580714 and 88840016 roms so far. I am not sure how or if it will work on the 88590015 rom that I currently have with Tephra v5.10 installed.

The thing that really makes this tougher is that the guys who are using this are all from either Europe or Australia so far it seems.

Got the O2 housing, driveshaft bushings, Nisei LICP, and Synapse BOV installed tonight. Also relocated the MBC.

Only took a few cell pics quick

Had to trim about 1" off the recirc tube:

haha yea. now I just need to get rid of the UICP and intake! I'll save that for later this summer or fall though, it works fine for now. I was just really sick of the LICP popping off. The drive shaft bushings made a very noticeable difference during shifting. Feels soooo much more solid. Now for some rear diff bushings. :D I'll look into getting some of those once I sell the Injen LICP, should be able to break even or even make a few bucks there.

Sweet man! Did you yank the radiator or the turbine housing? Just curious which route you ended up taking :D

haha, neither. I was going to do the turbine housing route, but the clamp that holds the turbo together was in THE WRONG position to be able to do that (nut on clamp was facing the block). Didn't have any coolant and it was getting late to make a run to the store, so I just did the knuckle busting method and took it out the bottom. Thank god I had a lift to work on it, Dan with the Blue mk3 Supra let me use his shop to do the work which was kick ass. He's a really cool old guy

Well, the heat shields stayed off, the only one still on is the manifold heat shield. I unplugged the front o2 sensor from on top of the valve cover, then took that out on the bench. I just trimmed some of the heat shield off where there is just a hole for the o2 sensor and made it a notch so if I ever do put the shield back on I don't have to remove the o2.

The o2 sensor was an absolute twat to get out also. Used a TON of PB blaster, heat, etc and it still did not want to come out. The vice I had it in was welded to the table it was on and I actually broke the welds before the o2 came out! Got the vice clamped back down, got 2 people to hold onto it while another cranked and it finally came out. I actually had to un-pin the connector on it so we could slide a box end wrench over the wire to get on there, the o2 socket I was using was looking like it was going to break. So other than the hour spent on that, it went decently smooth :)

LOL, ask Scheides or Rosey about getting the sensor out of the housing on my old Talon... We ended up giving up.

I think I'm the only one around here who had the O2 sensor come out of the stock housing with very little effort.

Yea, there was a short while where I wanted to give up, then the $376.70 price of a new front o2 sensor crossed my mind O_o

The cost of replacing parts is always a good motivator. lol
