Got spark and fuel? If you have both and it won't start, the timing is probably off. Mine started without setting the base timing but it was "lined up" pretty well to begin with. More fuel helped though.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

With the adjustment of the cam, pending how far off they were, the base timing could have been thrown off.

it cranks over, but the RPM gauge on the stock tach doesn't work. The RPM's through the AEM is going completely nuts! Something somewhere is messing up, and not telling the correct thing to the AEM which will then tell the MSD and etc what to do.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

We only advanced the intake cam 4 deg. It is not Stat Syncing so the AEM does not know the engine is cranking over, so we will re load the map and update the firm ware. The wiring for the CAS and all the grounds check out, but I will bring a CAS and my EMS just to be safe.

fucker spoiled it!! I made a short 30 sec video but the sound just SUCKS!! So, if I had a camera i could record a better vid with, i would. I'll just say everything now works after finding some wires shorting out and whatnot. Issue ended up being that the TDC wire on the CAS was grounded out somewhere, and causeing the AEM to go ape shit! So, eliminate that issue, and wow..it runs! idle is now set, and I gotta find the manual for the FJO to hook up 1 more wire for the wideband 02 to monitor on the AEM, and i'll be in business! Wow, it feels good! BIG thanks to John for sticking it out with me, even till 3am, to figure it out!

Grounding wires and CAS sensor problems? Hmm... :spin:
Glad you guys figured it out. That was a late evening for you guys. I was sleeping by 11pm last night.
