Nice. Mine took 1 week for the state, and 1 week and 2 days for my Federal.

Hey, since I do not own a home, but rent instead, I am entitled to a renter's refund. Does anyone know when/how I file this? I know its not directly tied into the tax information, but any addtional help would be great. Thanks!

You should get a certificate from your landlord. You have to fill out a seperate form from your basic taxes.

That's about all I know though. I've never bothered to send them in...

You are missing out on a lot of money. In TurboTax I just had to fill the amount in, I guess the checks come a lot later, like May - August.

For renter's, it depends on your income. I always made too much, so I always got screwed and didn't get anything back.

I did not know about this, maybe I won't get a check :( Any idea what the income cut-off is?

True. Unfortunately they never seem to end up in my posession so it's a PITA to track down. Oh well.

I will be finally taking advantage of this this year. Yes, you are correct, you will get the check at the time of your county's property tax deadline.

You can file it now or you can file it when your county has their property taxes, it is usually easier to do it now since you have all of your paperwork in front of you.

Ah...cool. So the fact that I did not do the paperwork with my other taxes is no big deal then. Phew... I was worried I would not be eligible since I have already turned in my other tax info. Anyone know where I can get the forms for the renter's refund? I doubt I make too much to not get something back as I only pull down about 40k a year.

If your adjusted gross income was over 49k then you will for sure get zero back if you rent. Even if you spent 20k in rent.

If it's 45k, then you'll have to have more than $1600 as the number on the CRP form to get anything back.

If it's 40k, then you'll have to have more than $1300.

My federal return was accepted today, I will be getting $1300 from them next Friday, the 23rd. And in the next few days when Minnesota accepts the return it'll be another $400.

Too bad it's all for bills and none for fun.
