Re: Evo X upgrades
Managed to figure out the PLX gauge wiring today. Those guys don't make anything easy. Now I have to figure out how to get them to display what I want. The OBD module also goes out to lunch under heavy load. I need to call them tomorrow and see if there is a firmware update for that one.
I'm going to buy some vacuum line and re-do some of them tomorrow. I kinda butchered them up taping in at various places to see what the vacuum/boost readings are on various lines. Was curious... |
Re: Evo X upgrades
OMFG. Everything on my car is working. I'm not sure what to do about this.
I'll get it over to Shane to have the tune checked. I have ordered a few small things in the last week: Torque Solutions driveshaft bushings, Beatrush rear diff mounts, and Racingline rear swaybar end links. It's nice to be down to smaller projects! I'm going to go to the open house for that alignment place near MAP this weekend. I want an appointment for a corner balance. |

He has my intake to get a prototype made from. It would actually just be another opportunity to drive the car :) Drive to DB, pick up intake from Dave's car, drive to Primo...Primo makes intake...Lomker installs intake at DB on Dyno next week...bam 450+! (conservatively speaking) |

I'm hoping for a final tune in August. The car is burning oil (presumably the turbo) but it makes power. <shrug> |

Re: Evo X upgrades
This guy has the same afpr that I do. If do have to install it, I'll make a bracket to mount it in the same spot...the way he used some loops off of the fuel rail looks nice.

Here is a pic of the AMI A-pillar (stock pillar w/fiberglass) and the PLX gauges.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Looks nice, I'll have to check those out if you're around next week during my b-day dinner, tune, or Friday evening events at JJ's Clubhouse.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Those look pretty good, I want to get that pillar, but visibility already sucks with the X, does this make it worse? If not I will have to pick one up. My gauge on the steering wheel blocks a lot of the speedo and when I get a wideband would block a lot of the tach.

But easy when you get a feel for it. I am thinking about doing something to try and help it if possible, not sure what can be done though. |

This AMI pillar is spendy because it's a factory pillar with pods fiberglassed in by hand (I have a spare core if someone wants it). Rexpeed now sells a 'cover' that you glue over your own pillar and just drill holes in it for the wires. Shawn just bought one of those. It's a shiny plastic and I think he's going to look for some spray paint that matches and fix it that way. |
