Nice vid! Still can't get over 140.77mph in the quarter on the stock 6bolt, still awesome.

BIR didn't say anything about not having a cage to any of the guys going quicker than 11.5 or trapping higher than 135. They did say something to the guys running 8's but I think they were just letting the street cars slide because there wasn't very many people at the event.

I say do some suspension work first, that will probably help you out a bit.

Thanks dude! I don't know if I'd say the car looks nice by any means but it looks decent enough from 10ft haha.

He's been sitting on some coilovers for a while, it's about damn time he got off his ass and installed them.

Now he just needs to wash it

Yep got some Tein Flex coil overs in there. I bought them from a member on here and the rears needed to be rebuilt. I got them back yesterday and they were in yesterday night ;)

510awhp no nitrous today, so things seem fairly good with the manifold, intercooler and motor. Maybe hit it with the nitrous later this week.

Yea I'm pretty pumped it made that kind of power on just boost. Best numbers before were 488. 100 shot should hopefully be pretty fun.

Huge thanks again to Shane for the awesome, amazing tune and Danny for fixing my intercooler and intake mani!!!!!

What I found in the surge area of the compressor housing.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...A/3237787a.jpg

I'm really not sure what to do, I think I'm getting super close to maxing this turbo out and was thinking of going bigger but I also wanted to go to the track one more time this year. It spins fine and doesn't look like it hits the housing when you spin it but you can tell it did or whatever did rub around for a little bit.

Maybe I should just say fack it for the year and do a couple upgrades and try and actually go fast or really say fack it slap it together with the twin disc that should be here tomorrow and let the mo' effer buck. haha decisions, decisions

Did it suck up a squirrel or something? hahaha I dunno that I would try running it like that. At least pull the compressor cover and make sure none of that stuff is wrapped around the wheel.

It kind of looks like a piece of thread or something, I just wish I knew how it got in there. I thought after turning the car off last week I thought the turbo didn't sound the same but didn't even bother to investigate becuase it still pulled pretty decent.

Good call on taking it apart, I'll have to do that tomorrow at work.

damn that sucks. hopefully it's just what you found and not 40 feet of miscellaneous thread lol.

Pfft, after seeing what the billet 67's are doing its hard to turn away...My vote would go towards a FP HTA3586, but if you want something bigger and in the 67mm category, AWDMotorsports has a nice little wheel combo they've put together they call the 1000R:

http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-eng...o-820-whp.html

I'm afraid for your bottom-end. :D

Time for that billet 71!

Re: Beater 2g

Who know what I'll end up doing. I'm wanting to throw in some rods and pistions though over the winter so I wont be afraid of spraying it so much. Wish there was a list that if you wanted to go 9's and trap 150 it would tell you how to do it as cheaply as possible.

Did get this in the mail today though, too bad I can't really put it to use.

Thats what I'd LOVE to do, but my wallet doesn't agree. Anybody know where I could buy some money tree seeds? haha

Like schiedes said, after witnessing the numbers that the billet 67 put out, I'd be leaning towards that.

Billet 67 would be awesome. IF you build, would u go 2.3 or stay 2.0?
Sorry for your loss.

I think they sell them at Iwanttodealdrugs.com

Top Mounts are affordable now. A top mount billet 71 would be pretty baller. You may need a new motor though but in the mean time, you could just keep spraying it til it pops!

Re: Beater 2g

So FP said they'd fix it for ~$600, would that include an HTA wheel on it? fuk dude, honestly I would really consider going that route; you have an awesome setup right now, that would only improve upon what you already have going w/o the hassle of a whole new turbo setup or pushing the car waaay further than you already are. People have seen very appreciable gains switching to hta wheels, theres some threads on it in the tech section.

Were you running filterless, or maybe thats a cotton thread from a K&N filter?

rose0529 09-15-2009 12:54 PM

Re: Beater 2g

when I was at DB yesterday we were looking at the "thread" and it looked like a tangled mess of brown thread from someones cross stitching... pretty crazy.

What would HTA'ing a 3065 make it?

Sorry for your loss.

I'd probably just keep rocking the 2.0 as it would be easiest. Eagles are cheap and just find a cheap piston combo.

Do I have to sign up on that website? haha That would be pretty baller, only time and good deals will end up with what route I go.

600 for the upgrade with the hta wheel. I am considering it but that turbo is getting close to maxing it out and if I could sell all the stuff and get a new bigger setup without spending much more than 600 it seems like a wash.

I had the filter off a couple times but always ran with one on. I guess it only takes one mistake to end up like this though :(

Shhhhh, brown sweater made more power but I guess I paid for it in the end.

I think it would make it the 3582?

asshanson 09-15-2009 03:00 PM

Re: Beater 2g

No, the 3065 has the gt30 turbine wheel, not the 35r wheel. The DSM82 would be a good upgrade, hta wheel and more top end. Or be crazy and get the DSM86 (assuming you're sticking to a mitsu format turbo).

Based on your sale price of $680 plus the $600 fix/upgrade price, it would cost you another $400 to get a brand new hta 35r turbo. You'd be able to keep all your current setup too.

Good luck on the new setup, whatever you choose to go with. I'm always amazed how much power this car makes.
