Re: My New 98 gsx build

I know the ets coolers are nice. But for the money and your plans of running on E85 the Map kit or vrsf FMIC are more than capable of getting to 500hp, for around a 1/3 of the price delivered to your door.

Also, halon is right don't touch the fuel lines unless you have to. They are not a restriction at 500hp.

Re: My New 98 gsx build

I talked to Shane. He's having doubts that it'll hit 500whp with that setup.
Could be looking from 450-550whp, Might be able to hit 550 but that's with E98. He also is the one who suggested the new FIC 1600's By the way.

The new FP Red or PTE 5858DBB?

Re: My New 98 gsx build

5858 should do 500@DB with the mods you listed.

Re: My New 98 gsx build

What do you guys think of the 6262DBB using the mitsu housing with a fp mani?

Also what do you all recommend for head parts? Using a 2G head
GSC S2 cams?
GSC beehive valve springs w/ Titanium retainer?
Ferrea Copper Alloy exhaust valve guides?
Valves?
Lifters?
Hydraulic adjusters?

Also if I'm gonna go to dsmlink w/sd what IAT, MAP sensor should I go with, GM? AEM? Omni?...

Thanks,

Re: My New 98 gsx build

I think you'd love a 5858 in a mitsu housing personally.

Head, I personally would keep it simple and affordable.
2G head, leave the head casting stock, or have them just clean up the casting in the ports a little, don't go too crazy.
Springs I'd just stick with a set of Crower springs/retainers as they are cheap and will allow you to rev to 8k as long as you don't run too ridiculous of cams. Cams, I'd think you'd be able to find a set of used HKS 272's for cheap. Proven since the early ages, and very affordable. Stock valves, 3g hla's, and you have yourself a pretty decent head setup on teh cheap.

Any opinions with a t3 cast manifold?

Re: My New 98 gsx build

Turbonetics style or ERL is about all there is.

Re: My New 98 gsx build

Just curious if you guys had experience using a t3 adapter plate on a mitsu housing? Or heard good or bad with them?

Re: My New 98 gsx build

I had one on my old Hahn 16g setup. Worked ok I guess.

Re: My New 98 gsx build

I'm just gonna get everything else figured out and bought and worry about the turbo setup later lol

What do you all recommend for 2G Head parts? All I have is a core.
I was thinking GSC S2 Cams and GSC beehive valve springs w/ Titanium retainer, No Used parts, All new.. And I'll probably end up getting 9.5:1 Wiseco HD, Since I'll be running e85.

Thanks,

Yeah that's your suggestion.. Just curious on what others thought also, Not saying yours is bad at any means.

Re: My New 98 gsx build

Have you ever driven anything with power? Maybe you should pick a realistic goal and get used to that first. Let me guess, you are going to run a stock tranny too? There is plenty of build threads and reviews that you can use google to find your answers.

Re: My New 98 gsx build

Whats your F***ing problem. N yeah I have driven a car with power before.

I've actually been doing a lot of research online, And no it won't be a stock Tranny.. Just like to hear what locals have to say.

If you don't have nothing good to say, Don't say anything at all n Gtfo this thread... Just saying

I'm spending a lot money n asking for suggestions on my build..

Re: My New 98 gsx build

You seem to not take in any suggestions and pretty much all of this stuff has been talked about over and over again and a quick search will land you some very good information. Another good way is to look back on some peoples project threads. This will give you their build and what they got out of it for results in most cases.

Re: My New 98 gsx build

Just being real here, I think people get annoyed that you're asking for advice yet at times being very generic. And when advice is given, it seems like you don't want to hear it and just do whatever you want to do, or just say never mind I'll figure it out later after 90 posts of people trying to help. Which yeah it's fine, do what you want to do. But don't ask for advice then, and don't get mad when people get annoyed with it.

95talonracer built a car similar to what I think you're trying to build years ago, with an FP mani and bolt on turbo.
