If you want something that bolts right up have you thought about sending your turbo to pte and getting the 72mm billet wheel put on it?

I was just using that as an example. As for the 72mm billet wheel I have not thought about that. The problem with my turbo is the exhaust wheel is chewed up and that wheel alone is like $500 so with what it will cost too fix mine I would rather explore possible better choices. I've been trying to find as many options as I can so I've you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Here's a little update. I was finally able to order the new clutch disks and am having the cams degreed this weekend or sometime next week. So i will finally be able to install this engine in the car. I'm getting excited lol

Okay here's another mini update. Friday I brought the engine out to John (pushit2.0) and he degreed my cams in. He was also kind enough to stay up extra late and get it done Friday. A huge thanks to him! Once my clutch disks show up the engine is going back in. Hopefully next weekend.

Ha not yet I have it narrowed down to a handful that will take the least amount of modifications for install. There are 3 borgwarner s400sx I'm looking at, FP makes a journal bearing hta4294 (which is a billet 67mm gt42) which is what I really want, but right now the ones that are winning are a bullseye power s372 I can get one for a little under 1k and there's a local guy selling a new gt4202 for 1k or best offer. The others are around $1500. I don't really want to go to a 4202 but if I can get it cheap enough I will

Re: my new project

Right on. I know we talked about the 3794. That what I bought.

Re: my new project

That's awesome! I want to see that thing when it's up and running! That is a sweet turbo and you can make some crazy power with it. I would like to go to something like that but it's a little out of my price range and then I'd have to have new intake and exhaust fabricated too :-\

Yeah I hear ya. It's not going on the mirage though untill it's awd. Lol

I thought that's what you said you were trying to avoid changing everything to keep the cost down.

Re: my new project

Ha yeah that turbo on fwd would be kind of pointless lol. I think I want to change the wasgate setup too which will be pricey. I want to go to at least a 44mm probably bigger like 50mm or 60mm and they aren't exactly cheap, plus flanges, and fab work on my manifold lol, I'm going to replace the oil cooler too. this thing just keeps nickle and diming me here and there lol

Did you hit up mondale for this S400 thing.

Re: my new project

I thought I read somewhere smaller wastegates were better for larger turbos. Don't wanna turn this into a debate but if I can find the posts I read ill link them.

Edit: found info that supported what I said.

It says

big turbo/low boost= large wastegate
Big turbo/high boost= smaller wastegate

Yeah idk I dunno I guess I want to be able to run a little less boost if I want to. The least amount of boost I could run on the 4294 was like 36psi so I'd like to have the option of dropping boost a little if I want like 30ish

Well made some progress last night. Not as much as I would have liked things just did not want to go smoothly last night lol. I'm going to go put some more work in on her today and see how far I can get on her. Oh and I owe a huge thanks to CornFed2.4 for lending me a clutch alignment tool that I totally spaced and forgot I didn't have lol. Thanks a ton
