How close are you to starting it up?

Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
I have a few things left to do, most should be done this weekend, but some will not. I have to get bung welded in the intercooler pipe for the AIT sensor. That will not be done this weekend. There are a few other things here and there, but for the most part it will all be done by Sunday. I am a Nursing student and i work 20 plus hours a week. That equates to an average of a 12-14 hour day, so my free time is really limited.

Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
So after asking people where/how they mounted their MSD DIS2 I decided to come up with my own solution. I wanted something that was sturdy, something that was no held together with duct tape and zip ties. This is only a rough version of the final product. I made it out of a piece of 1/8" thick steel plate. I would like to use aluminum but it is expensive for such a thick piece. the reason for the thickness is to have to the two main mounting bolts countersunk. The MSD unit is held onto the plate by four allen head bolts.
Here is a picture of how the unit looks bolted onto the car with the MSD in place http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...-19-15_785.jpg Notice the lines drawn on the plate, the center section is going to be cut out to save weight. The outer lines show where can material can be removed to make the mounting plate a bit more atheistically pleasing. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...-24-40_632.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...-25-18_336.jpg Here you can see the mounting bolts are countersunk into the place. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...-25-03_293.jpg The plate mounts to the car via a set of stainless bosses. The system works like this. There are two broached studs, each boss is threaded. The boss threads onto the studs and can be adjusted to fit the contour of the fire wall, adjusting in or out to make the plate level. The two main mounting bolts thread into the boss. Here is a picture of the bosses. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...-29-08_374.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...-29-57_112.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...-30-11_728.jpg |
